So it started out with this really simple character concept: Dexter is a fossil obsessed maniac with a backstory that set him in a university city. To prevent him from joining the uni so he has a reason to start his journey, his backstory has him having been turned down by the university when he applied--and having him be incredibly sour about it, to the point that he's decided that the entire regions sucks and the only way he can fix this is to take it over. He is a character who, after being turned down to his higher education institution of choice, developed illusions of grandeur and became a megalomaniac who has decided to take over the world. Okay, that's...bearable. Seems weird but...why is that triggering something in my head? Ohhh...and he's decided that he's absolutely terrified of grass types due to natural events over the past five months of game session where they've generally fucked them over...and has decided he needs to get rid of them in his perfect world. ... And his party consists of an ice and fire elementalist... .... ... I think...I think literal PokeHitler is in my game and I'm not sure how to respond. |

I noticed it was Hitler the instant I got to the word 'grandeur'. I'd say to just throw someone more extreme than him at him, but I know that's a terrible idea and it doesn't actually fix anything. Or maybe have him accepted to a different school in a different region. Hrm... But then again, you deal with an entirely different problem. Edited by DNA, Apr 5 2015, 10:03 PM.

I mean, I'm not inclined to really stop him, because he seems largely harmless. But also, the realization we had tonight was mindblowing. |

Yes, he probably would be largely harmless. |

I went all-roleplay on this one, so basically whole scene is memorable. That's why I give short version. Distress Call, in space. Ghost, creepy giggles, tv with weird sounds. Creepy situation, meet Talsi. Talsi, continue to ignore creepiness of situation. Quick list of things she did in that ship (that turned out all to be good ideas) List Meanwhile other char complain about everything and is like stabstabstab during whole encounter. He basically provoked most of Misdreavus attacks, and was yelling at Talsi all the time (despite all she did turned out to be good idea). And after that encounter? Here she did something that was not good idea. She stuffed dead Misdreavus to healing machine and forgot to stuff machine with pokeballs. Yep, other than Dark Friend, Ida (ship's rotom) and Groot we got one more ghost-type signature on ship. Luckily, it's probably same Misdreavus who got charmed, was eating from hand and shaked Talsi's hand when she wanted to. Two more things

So...last night's game (DM'ed by TheBlackGlove on here) went way off the rails. The basic premise of the game is that Pokemon are appearing in the "real world," and we've been chosen to receive Pokemon companions and stop the breaches. Our starters lost their memory upon appearing with us, though, although some of the Pokemon we've come across seem to remember them. One of those was a Mega Steelix we encountered in last night's game, but before he could share too much, he seemed to start hitting his head against the wall, and then became hostile towards us, as well as summoning several Onix out of space-time rifts. Since we were in an old construction tunnel, one of our players, a Warper, went back to find a drill we'd passed. Meanwhile, my character, who recently got the Psionic Sight Feature, tried to inspect the Steelix for signs of mind-control, and found that there was apparently some sort of psionic thread woven into the very fabric of reality. So she decided to try and communicate this to the others, although unfortunately our Warper was still trying to get the drill started. He got onto the scene just in time to see the Steelix KO our Martial Artist and a Sandstorm take out another party member, and apparently couldn't hear what the other characters were trying to tell him about the mental manipulation, and right after our Martial Artist's Riolu took out the Steelix (and got to evolve from it) he decided to charge it with the drill anyways. My character throws herself in the way. He can't stop it. He tries to use Ally Switch, but she refuses it. So...he teleports in front of her, and then the tank explodes, along with the last conscious Onix. (That's what they've all been doing when we fainted them, for the record.) And then we see his eyes are glowing. And when he speaks up, he's definitely no longer himself. TBG ends the session there. We get bonus trainer XP! |

In 1 campaign I had at least 5 characters. Let me tell you the story of each. A little foreword, This was my first campaign that finished. However it was more bad luck than anything that killed my characters. 1...Prof.Evergreen Archeologist or the One Shot that started it all. The start of the campaign was a one shot. It had a "simple" premise all the characters woke up in a cave and we had to find a way out. Luckily(This was a PTA game) my archeologist had a feature that let him see the exit to any cave. However the exit kept shifting. So he decided the logical thing to do was dig out of the cave. Enter Lava. Luckily everybody had water types so it was put out for a moment but nobody was unscarred by it. So we continued on to a crossroad. 2 characters went up 3 went down. Evergreen was one of the three and they met a type shifting Steelix that knocked him out in the first round. He was promptly abandoned. He wakes up in a bed in a furnished room, that eventually one of his abandoners stumbles upon. Turns out this was the room of the Deciever a creation of the GM. He was your basic trickster. Anyway he offers them a chance to escape by picking the right door. Well they fail and promptly enter a battle with Super High Lever characters from a previous gam of the GMs. And although he thought up a pretty ingenious strategy. It failed discouraging him a bit. Than the Deciever offers to do a lie to me game. Which was basically impossible since he had god levels(Literally) of Charisma. Well my character tried a paradox, and was promptly dragged into the darkness since it was against the rules :P. The other was let go since he quit trying to challenged him. After he was gone Evergreen was given a chance to live. Take a gun and kill the other player. At this point Evergreen thought the other character had abandoned him (Which he had repeatedly) and his loss in battle and interest in the deciever had driven him...a little deranged. So he agreed and tried to shoot him in the back. Only to find out it was another trick and was shot in the back with a poison bullet and slowly died. But that wasn't the end...because I stuck around until the end. The other player eventually found a room with Lily, The Decievers boss, in it. She's a little girl who's actually a rage demon woman (This won't come up until chapter 2). She was also slightly deranged. Their was an altar in this room that could be used to escape. To help the other character out mine was brought back as a ghost. A completely mental ghost, who had little interest in the players saftey or even his own pokemon. He wasn't willing to help until the Deciever mentioned he could return to life if he reached the altar first. He readily agreed and came up with a plan to approach the Alter. You see there was a Golurk, who guarded the altar and to fool him we simply alternated getting closer to devide it's attention. It worked getting the other player up to the altar. When Evergreen quickly betrayed him backing up completely turning the Golurk's attention to the other player. He in his panic, activated the altar. Freeing all the prisoners of this sub dimension including now, Evergreen. Who thanks to a Lucky Roll, still exists as a ghost in a Pokemon Tower in the GM's custom region. Another interesting thing is, that when another character. One who took the other path escaped they also had a gender swapped clone with them. Which they immediately had sex with. I think I'm going to stop for now since this is dragging on but, I will probably update with Chapter 2 some other time. |
