Apparently being one hp from a death roll in the first encounter from a beedrill's fury attack is a legitimate excuse for the breeder in our party to be deathly afraid of bugs for the rest of the campaign and sell any bug he manages to catch to the league office. Including an amazing pinsir that almost knocked my aron in one hit.

In our last session, our group, while passing through Viridian Forest, found themselves getting forced apart by psychic trees. So, since in the session before that, my character had successfully intimidated a psychic presence out of her mind, I decided to ask if I could intimidate the trees. The DM's exact words were, "Its not likely to work, but you can try."

I then proceeded to roll 23 on 3d6+6.

I intimidated the trees. Very successfully.

Our party is working our way through an bloodsport arena's inner workings, attempting to take out the big bad at the end to stop the entire thing. I specifically tell the party to take out trainers first, so that less pokemon are brought out and to minimize overall damage to our pokemon which have to last an unknown amount of time. On another note the place is a maze >_>.

The first two rooms went pretty well, knocking out the trainers in a round or two ensuring that their pokemon aren't able to receive orders. At the end of the second room were a bunch of cells containing pokemon and people that were to be forced to fight in the arena, our resident engineer opened up all the cells and managed to find a map on one of the guards computers.

We proceded for the most part unhindered up to the big bads room, before we go in I remind everyone to take him out first, his pokemon will be exceedingly strong as he owns the darn place. We walk in, big bad gets the standard monologue aaaand everything goes to pot. The party wails on the multiple pokemon that he brings out, seemingly I'm the only one aiming at him.

After a couple of our pokemon are knocked out he loses one, he brings out his dusknoir. I was hoping one of our party members who was deathly afraid of ghosts wouldn't lose her mind, but she did. She proceeded to tackle the big bad to the ground, landing on top of him, meaning any attack that would hit him, would hit her. Admittedly my character didn't take it too well, nobody is doing as originally planned and one of the party members is acting as a human shield for the guy. I've had 3 mons knocked out trying to get this guy and everyone else has had 1.

Personal frustration to the max. She want's to shield him with her body? She gets to cop the hits as well.

Haven't GM'd in a long while (life got in everyone's way), but for the short time that I did have a campaign running, I set up the party's first encounter with the local criminal organization under the guise of a fun fossil-finding excursion.

The Ace Trainer, being such a notoriously eager beaver, bolted from the other two and immediately took to spelunking down one of the open cave systems. His partners, a Researcher and a Martial Artist, on the other hand, took some time to fart around on a grand quest for pickles... (looong story, but we were all snacking on homemade pickles during one session and it became an inside joke). Anyway the Ace Trainer ends up stumbling onto two suspicious characters operating a giant drill in a feebly barricaded section of the caves. His poor Charisma and big mouth initiates a battle and for the first few turns he has to fight both characters off on his own.

The Researcher and Martial Artist eventually bumble into the caves and lend a hand in the fight. Bad idea. The extra weight on the cave floor, now unstable thanks to the reckless drilling, causes it to give way. Everyone takes a ridiculous tumble that ends up in 5 out of 6 lucky rolls... and one terribly broken leg... Also, I think the description of a criminal's bloodied, mangled hand jutting out from the pile of debris struck a chord in the heart of our fragile, 10-year old Researcher.

After a few twists and turns in the new maze of caves they fell into, including a bumbled Jump check over a rushing river, which sent our already traumatized Researcher plummeting into a hidden stream that spat her out in the middle of a Kabuto horde's nap time (the Martial Artist had a blast diving in and clinging to the back of his Squirtle to follow her though), the temperature starts to sky rocket. A tunnel finally opens up to a massive chamber with a stream of hot magma cutting right through it. Inside they find more criminal-ish individuals, some fancy looking hi-tech guns... and a Moltres.

I applied a unique class to two of the four criminals, essentially turning them into human/Pokémon hybrids. The looks on everyone's faces after one of them launched a Paralyzing Thundershock was pretty amusing. After some dialogue, the party makes their stand and just tries to whale on the criminals with everything they got, trying to protect the Moltres. A Scientist gets in a high Accuracy check and launches a special net that ensnares the bird, and shocks it into submission. With a dramatic flair, the second Scientist reaches for a Pokéball, and out of sheer desperation (and naivete, I suppose), the Ace Trainer beats him to the punch by throwing his own Pokéball. He rolls. It's a #@%$ing 1. All natural. You could hear a pin drop as we all stare at the dice. Then the Martial Artist notices my expression and breaks the silence with "...Keith just broke the game, didn't he?"

I swear, that wasn't supposed to happen. I wasn't gonna let it happen. But, my god, he rolled a natural freakin' 1 on a Capture check. So I let him catch a Moltres (while they all only had about 4 Pokémon each and no Gym Badges yet). And then, once I decide that the cave ceiling was about to come down on their little heads and the baddies make their quick escape first, I had Moltres fly them all out to safety, dump them off just outside the nearest city, and shatter its Pokéball into a million pieces before flying off into the sunset. Its debt had been repaid. Game unbroken. FIN.

I imagined you just metal screaming at the trees in that one.

Sadly, I did not get to intimidate anything this session. Still, most of it was awesome.

Spoiler tagged for Nidoprince's PBP folks. Also wall of text.

Hey all, Vael from the Myneo Campaign, I play as Alex, the plucky Watcher...who isn't really one anymore because of...stuff happening before the timeskip. Suffice to say that if this was a TV show, Tumblr would have gone NUTS at the Season 1 finale.

So anyways, Season 2 begins, and more stuff happens, including a brutal beating and swear-off with our home town Gym Leader, Jade (the one Alex is crushing on), said swear-off was so bad that apparently Arceus himself deleted the moment from the timestream (started at 13:15 and ended at 17:15...I think). However! That's not the point, because after an...interesting journey through the ruins into an Underwater Volcanic region where there were one too many pokemon who can self-destruct...without fainting, and more who enjoy throwing CIPHER goons into lava, to paraphrase one slugma:

"Dey make good fuel for de lava mon."

Why yes, that was a rastafarian slugma, and Alex can actually talk to Pokemon now...as can two other members of the party, along with another whose Porygon 3.0 (homebrewed Porygon) translates, leaving only one guy out of the fun...I think. Onwards with the session, so after that, we run into ANOTHER CIPHER agent, this time one looked like an admin, but there was of course, a problem, and it have had something to do with the fact that he stupidly woke up a rather powerful pokemon, and subsequently had a hole burned right through him.

That's where the session ended, with the team facing the angry pokemon, one of the Legendary Myneo Pokemon, Obsidian Heatran.

Yeah, the entire area that we're in in at the moment is also based on Minecraft btw. There's an entire colony of the Geodude line that had a number of traits breed true from a single modded Golem. Including being shiny, and being able to self-destruct without fainting.

From the PTU session I'm participating in outside the forums, we were fighting Darkrai. Massively overpowered by absorbing the Regi Gems, killed and absorbed Deoxys (Who owed us all a favor - Name an NPC that isn't vital to the story and he gets instagibbed), and tried to fight all of us. The battle itself didn't get interesting, however, until the very end, wherein Darkrai used Dark Void to try and put us all to sleep. A few resisted, a few fell, but most importantly, our Cyborg (Crush) had also 'fallen asleep'.

Darkrai gets hit into Critical health, and tries to escape. By a wish granted from Jirachi (Much earlier before this fight), however, I had been transformed into a Gengarthrope, with the capability to Mega Evolve (Homebrew stuff) once a day at the cost of some AP, which had given me Shadow Tag. Then Crush wakes up, with the following line.

"BEEP BOOP, MOTHERFUCKER. ZAP CANNON."

He'd used Lock on the previous turn.
That roll he made for sleep? Complete bull. He made the roll to convince our GM that he'd fallen asleep when he had immunity to it the entire time.
Our GM was HYSTERICAL with laughter when it dawned on him.

I also have to give credit on our Glitch Bender for an earlier battle where he managed to word an action he was performing in such a way that he could try and glitch out a Zygarde that was trying to kill us. GM decided it was One Time Use due to the circumstances.

He rolled a 20.

He turned Zygarde into a giant mutant Magikarp.

@Graygriffin- Was tempted to post my part of the story, as that was a pile of awesome, but wasn't sure.

Glad you did. And just to clarify, it wasn't a 3 I rolled. It was three 1's on a 3d6 Acrobatics check. I'm honestly surprised I just didn't fall and die.

Again to everyone in that game, sorry for basically taking over the entire first portion of the session there.
