This same session was a blast for me too (I play the old man), for similar reasons EK enjoyed it. I decided to post what happened on Theo's end of the session. This takes place after Lauren has left to talk to Aishen on the beach.

Spoilered, for anyone who doesn't want spoilers. There's some stuff concerning the old man's history in there.

Also, I may have inadvertently forced our lovely GM to invent an entirely new character for the sake of the campaign. Lovely, yes?

I made all of my players cry last night. My one-armed stone-faced ex-rocket tough-guy was actually too choked up to pronounce his character's focus roll for a second.
The details of what actually happened might be too much to put to words, but that emotional bond is certainly a milestone!

Is it okay if it's really, really long?

Telling us the story would take less time than not telling us the story.

I run a PTA group in real life. I'm the GM, and our party consists of Karen the ace trainer, Luka the psychic, Skaie the capture specialist, and our newest member, Syd the breeder. (I honestly can't remember the breeder's name in game, oops.) I have a lot of great stories with them, even though we've only been through a couple sessions, but to give you a taste of what I have to deal with, here are some of their Pokemon:

  • Syd's Lickitung, Ezio, who came out of the closet after the players realized it was a female. One of the slowest on the team.
  • Karen's Nidoking, Subarashi. I have a lot of trouble with Japanese names, so I've called him Moyashi, Sushi, Subirishi, and Su.
  • Luka's Axew, Demyx. It beats the crap out of everything with Dual Chop and has had two moments where it kills things with Dual Chop critical hits. Other than that, it is a derp.
  • Karen's gay Hopip who has frequently been thrown at things.
  • Skaie's Corsola, Cor, who was caught only after Skaie tripped and fell face-first onto it.
  • Luka's Cofagrigus, who doesn't have a nickname yet, but the best candidates so far are Cofigrigus, Coffin, and Cofaggy.

Each session is a memorable moment just because of how much fun we have.
Last time was pretty cool, though, because I got to roll ten dice for damage from a Koffing's Self Destruct. If it weren't for some fiddling around on my end, half the party and three Pokemon would've died. Instead, Syd and Skaie were knocked out, and Karen remained standing with barely five HP. Ace trainers are badass, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

My party's Ace Trainer was killed by a Magikarp.

Ok, here's my story.
For the record, I GM a real-life PTU group of eight characters and one GM. We're going to focus on three of the PCs today, because the others are still trapped in Distortion World (more on that later.)
The story that I’m running is kind of an Alternate Reality version of Pokémon Adventures generation 1.

The following is a session that Garrett, Lexy, and I will always refer to as the "Season One Finale."
(But first, a little background!)

So two characters, Shang and Tuco, invite the players by phone to come ambush one of the main villians of the game with them, Thor. These characters are shady as anything, one being an assassin and the other having a grudge against a player character. None the less, the PCs take the chance to get rid of Thor while they can, considering it a necessary alliance. Shang and Tuco are also bringing Thor to the same place, having told him the same thing. They side with the player characters seemingly when push comes to shove, with Shang and his Pokemon mostly attacking Thor with the occasional boost, but Tuco just does nothing but sit and boost his stats (Stats are incredibly inflated in this campaign, especially for humans), even "accidentally" having his Pokemon attack the player characters. Of course, when Thor goes down, it's made obvious that Shang and Tuco were just boosting for their boss battle with the player characters. What results is a literal 12 hour final boss battle with Thor's Aerodactyl staying out and attacking people for over three times as long as Thor was up, various characters changing sides/coming in mid-battle, and what have you.

Grudge, eh? Not my fault he couldn't beat an underleveled Kadabra with a Garchomp.

In any case that battle was far too insanely long. I can't even count the number of drinks I needed for that, and I'm usually pretty good when it comes to that. I was about ready to murder that Gengar before they were even revealed to be traitors. The Tuco/Shang part of that fight took up a good 3/5ths of the 36-thousand word log, it seems.

I do have some good memories from the game though, such as beating the Flying leader at his own game, with a disadvantage. Guy couldn't beat a Scyther. Course he then later turned out to be evil and kicked my ass(though not necessarily my Pokemon's, go Ace Trainer), then not entirely evil and basically saved it. That battle in itself was far too memorable for its own good, and especially for the good of the other PC. Also, becoming a poker champion with no Wisdom or Charisma was nice.

And then the most memorable moment of all, with Jerry the lawyer. See, that Flying Leader mentioned before, Gordon, had the ability to wipe out memories, and while you got a contested roll, if you let him do it, his Intelligence was so high you basically had no chance. Except an unassuming little lawyer named Jerry, who'd helped me out just a bit before this. Jerry found out something he shouldn't have, due to nobody bothering to hide their voices, so Gordon of course goes in to wipe his mind...and Jerry gets a 19, and being a Psychic himself, his Intelligence modifier is enough to barely avoid being wiped. Then he Teleports away. So, we have to go on a wild goose chase for this guy, and Gordon catches him eventually...and he nat 20s the roll to avoid being wiped. So AGAIN we scour the city for Jerry The Unassuming Lawyer, and what do you know, when we catch him? Another 19, this time one UNDER what he needed, but it was ruled that the difference was so minimal it barely did anything. And he'd been spreading the word all while running around.

So because of this one guy and his absolute refusal to be mind-wiped, everyone in the entire city found out what Gordon didn't want Jerry to find out. This makes Gordon snap, and he goes on a rampage, mind-wiping everyone he comes across, with varying consequences such as: victims forgetting who they are, becoming vegetables, having their head explode, and so on. Needless to say, more people found out, and that basically set the latter half of the game off. Jerry still lives on in my heart for being the most random NPC to cause the most major plot event in any of our games, through sheer luck.
