... yes, ALL breeders are.

Speaking of crazy breeders, my Breeder walked into a volcano the other day and saw a group of Torkoal. He told them about he had once owned a turtle Pokemon (the old man had a Torterra in his backstory), and they reminded him of it, leading him to ask if they would like to join him. The GM asked for a Charm roll.

Max result.

The 4 Torkoal surrounded my character, then bowed, allowing me my pick from the lot. I would later find a sword in the rocks of the volcano, granting me the title from my teammates of "Flaming Turtle God, King Under the Mountain".

My next plan is to defeat a legendary with my Magikarp's Splash Attack. Why yes, I do have this planned out.

The Watcher in our campaign has earned the title "Myneo's Biggest Baller". We're doing a dual solo run; and we're investigating an area called the "Bunny Slopes", well known for its rabbit-themed pokemon. We spot a herd of Nidoran (both sexes) and observe them for a while (one of our money-making options in this game involves writing up reports to send back to the Prof on Pokemon behavior). After some observation, and a well-timed use of a Chatot's mimicry to avoid detection, most of the Nidoran leave, except for three.

At this point, the baller shines through. He approaches using the Close Watch feature, then steps out into view and *asks to speak to their leader.* My petrologist is facepalming HARD in his hiding spot, while the Watcher makes himself comfortable on the ground. After a few moments; a HUGE Nidoking *AND* Nidoqueen approach from the direction of their warren. This magnificent bastard then proceeds to look them in the eyes and say this:

Spoiler: click to toggle

From there it became a knock-down drag out fight between the two. Which, honest to god, appeared to be more them having fun and flirting than anything else. And while they wandered off into the woods, knocking down trees and blowing up hills, both the Watcher an I walked away with a Nidoran of either gender without even having to battle. Turns out that that particular group settled arguments through male vs female battling. To quote the GM:

Quote:

This tribe settles everything via battles between Male and Female. To kill the intruder or not to kill? Battle. To allow capture? Battle.

I've got a crazy breeder story as well. Well, less crazy and more unconventional.
The party's Breeder is named Billy Bob. That should tell you all about his backstory that you should need to know. The party was travelling through a mountainous area and they decide to stop to look for some wild Pokemon. I usually have them roll at d20 when they go looking for wilds, and Billy Bob and the party's capture specialist, Isao, each get natural 20's. So Billy Bob finds a Charmander and Isao finds two Growlithes.
Isao goes the safe route and tries to befriend his Growlithes. This takes a bit more time, but he gets one to get into the ball fairly easily, and begins befriending the second one. Meanwhile, Billy Bob sends out his Slugma to battle the Charmander. He commands it to Rock Throw the Charmander, thinking that even though it would be super effective, Slugma has a low attack and it's a weak move anyway, so it shouldn't be enough to KO it off the bat.
Crit.
The Charmander is unconscious and it looks like Billy Bob is heading out empty-handed, but then he gets an idea.
As Isao is attempting to coax the second Growlithe into coming along with him, he says Billy Bob crossing the hill in front of him, dragging a now-dead Charmander with him. And he tosses it out and shouts to the Growlithe, "Hey, buddy! I gotcha some lunch!"
For the record, this is not the first time Billy Bob has killed and cooked a Pokemon. I might come down on him if the violence were a little more frivolous, but he's actually the least Rambo member of the party and at least he's making use of the whole body...

Or he could have... you know, used a potion on the Char to heal it up some, waited for it to wake up, and then captured it while it was still groggy. Probably not going to be very loyal at first, but hey, Charizard.

We've been over knocking out Mons in this campaign. Generally, if you knock one out, you've lost it. Unless you really want to spend a Revive on it, and he didn't have one with him. It was early in the campaign and all.

Of course all breeders are crazy; they take after Nappa.

@The Black Glove: Have I mentioned lately that I love you nohomo?
@Lockdown: That looks like a scene right out of Futurama. You know, the episode where that alien king is having marital problems.

My Petrologist made a crack about there being a new brood of Nidoran after this. The male Nidoran that was still there nodded!

Okay, I have one for real this time!!

So, our party's going through Mount Moon, and while crawling through the dungeon to find the way through, we run into a den of 2 Duosion with their 4 Solosis children. Our Breeder/Empath then immediately starts up a conversation with them, as he tends to do with any wild Pokemon he encounters (hostile or otherwise - fortunately these weren't hostile). He found the Solosis adorable and wanted to take one with him, because they were green and he was green (no seriously, green hair, green clothes, the whole enchilada - but that's not important).

The male Duosion then outright told him no, you're not taking any of our children away. We then start trying to negotiate with them on directions on how to get out of here in exchange for food (the only answer they give is 'up', implying we're going to have to climb up the mountain, which we do later). Then, our Coordinator, who is also half-Pokemon and tends to roll ludicrously high charm rolls...

*this is the part where you can start paying attention*

...asked the Duosion to reconsider, since the Breeder didn't know his manners, also throwing in that our party is also good at taking care of younglings (which we are, actually, but again that's not important right now). The Duosion stares at our coordinator, and responds with the following:

Spoiler: click to toggle

Our Coordinator (Crystal) truthfully responds that she is already taken, but then the Breeder chimes in again. He states that he could possibly convince Crystal enough to breed with the Duosion. Duosion is skeptical of this at first, but the Breeder (Danny) reassures the Duosion saying that he could totally do it. The following exchange happens:

Spoiler: click to toggle

Enter the mother, stage right. At this point, a gigantic smile spread across my face as I watched this all play out. The thought of the daddy running off to be with the first floozy he meets and leaving his whole family behind, even in the Pokemon world, strikes me as hilarious.

It gets better, though. Then the two Duosion start fighting over who's going to be captured, while meanwhile our poor Coordinator is distraught over what she inadvertently started:

Spoiler: click to toggle

The breeder throws a Friend Ball forward. The female moves in to take the hit, but the male intercepts and is captured. The female yells "Oh, that CHEAT!" and starts stewing, her children watching (oh dear). The coordinator then suggests we just capture the lot so they aren't all separated, but the mother rejects the offer, saying she doesn't want to be near him. To make the mother Duosion feel better, the breeder then promises to set the male Duosion up with someone else altogether, instead of who he was originally after. He said it would be, quote "the ultimate revenge".

Then he tried to set the mother Duosion up with his Slowking (Larry) to make her feel better, and then another awkward discourse begins:
(I'd explain it, but I think it's just better if you just read it for yourself.)

Spoiler: click to toggle

And then we went back to finding the way out of Mount Moon.
It took up about half the time of the whole session, but due to the sheer hilarity factor that was generated, I'd say it was totally worth it.
