my players came across some people unconcious. one of them decided to shake one awake. he then proceeded to dislocate the inside of his elbows (NAT 1). he then tried to put them back in place (another NAT 1) by moving his arms. so now he has had broken bones sticking out of the inside of his elbows, torn the flesh and one of the other players had to bandage him to avoid further damage. so now he must be careful when it comes to moving his arms |

Ok lots of background to cover but I'll try to be brief. the PC's are on an island that is one big city that is hosting a week long gardening festival that covers the whole city in vines and such and attracts tropius to the island because people get tired of seeing urban mons all the time. After an adventure reminiscent of Jurassic park 2 two of the PC's go break off to do their own thing. one(nessa) gets dinner and looks for a trainer battle, the other(zack) goes hunting. Nessa gets shot in the leg buy an influential hunting dirty harry wannabe in an ally. Nessa disarms her attacker with telekinesis forcing him to retreat, but she can't chase him down, and beat the crap out of him due to her leg wound. Zack finds a chingling with an eggmove trapped on a roof by a bobble loving tropius. Zack being a ninja agrees to help the chingling escape tarzan style and the tropius gives chase. Zack ditchs the tropius by swinging into an ally to narrow to fly through making the tropius go the long way around. In this ally Zack finds Nessa, and the chingling's eggmove is revealed to be wish as it heals her wound. then this memorable moment happens...

We've had a few in our current campaign - Just about one apiece. I'm thankful for our quirky, yet fair GM. xD I should just lay down some ground rules - This is a custom version of the Unova region, and has certain elements not seen in the Pokémon games. It only gets more and more ridiculous as you scroll down the list. ---------------- Kail - Me ---------------- Entering Hearthome city, we were given three options. Fight Fantina, Investigate a nearby parking lot, or check out the Pokémon contest. Being from Kanto, I immediately wanted to go see what this 'contest' thing was, while my companions (Equeste, Loki and Ryuji) went to the Parking Lot. Upon immediately entering, I set up a Contest Pass, and not knowing what I was doing, I entered a Smart Contest with my Ralts, Espa. Not knowing seemed to be a perfect strategy - I completely stomped all over my opponent - Fantina. In commemoration of my victory, she gave me the Badge to her Gym, and Espa was awarded the standard Smart ribbon. Probably would've been more outstanding if I were a coordinator, too... ---------------- Ryuji ---------------- His most memorable moment was what our GM gave him to start with. Each of us are linked to a Legendary when we're born, and encounter it at some point in the story. Now, I'll assume you're thinking 'Maybe he got something really good?' Dead wrong - He had a defect with his Genes at birth, and in an emergency move, was given the genes of a baby Axew. As a result, he became a DRAGON TYPE HUMAN. Every four hours, he has to take medication, or enters Dragonoid mode, and has to make a 1d20 insanity check - Failing if below 5 for the next three turns. Needless to say, he was an absolute powerhouse. ...Until the player behind him got bored and made Ryuji OD on his medication. ---------------- Equeste ---------------- Taking full advantage of the Workout Perk, Equeste had become the strongest member of our group, with an astonishing 68 STR & CON before the fourth Gym. Due to this, our GM set up a situation where Equeste, Scizrom (Explained below) and I had to enter a warehouse to stop the campaign's bad guys - Team Myst - From bringing Giratina into this world. We succeeded, though we lost Scizrom in the process. We were then forced to fight the general who'd been supervising the operation, and after successfully incapacitating us... He got his Pokémon to snap Equeste's spine. This event lead Equeste to permanently lose access to the Workout perk, and have his STR and CON reduced right down to 24. He's currently in a wheelchair, but expected to recover after a while. ---------------- Loki ---------------- The grand finale - A man and his Scyther! Now earlier, I talked about 'Scizrom' - Well that's all explained here. Lt. Surge, having moved to Unova to run an Electric Gym, was challenged by Loki. The fight was pretty neck-and-neck, until Surge managed to freeze his Gabite, and do enough damage to shatter the ice into a million pieces. Less than impressed, his starter, a Scyther, popped out of it's Pokéball, and proceeded to grab the assorted Magneton around the Gym, and in utter fury, ATE each and every one he could get his hands on (Thankfully, since he was under GM control, so every attack against it was basically missing.) The ingestion of the metal, the heat from the electrical energy it was hit by after it finished, forced it to evolve into Scizor, but it was... Mutated, to say the least. Instead of Red, it was a rather Glossy Black, and its Yellow spots were Cyan, instead. To put the cherry on the cake? Apart from being a TRIPLE TYPE, it seemed that it was, at full power (Which it was at the time,) was capable of using FUSION BOLT. We never got to see it though - Surge surrendered before the force of the attack it was charging that made it look strangely similar to Zekrom (Hence the name) took shape. He didn't want his Gym and the adjacent city to get obliterated. As a side note though, Loki can't control Scizrom. It's not that he's insane with power but dumb as rocks, but more that he's insane with power and knows what to do with it, and believes he can battle better without Loki's orders. Scizrom's still faithful to him. Edited by Jarulso, Dec 30 2012, 12:26 AM.

Seriously, I didn't get it either. I turned up around the third Gym in, and he was buffed as hell. According to the GM, the entire process had been undertaken legally. Also because in every other tabletop we play, the player behind Equeste always dies first. He wanted to live this time around. Edited by Jarulso, Dec 30 2012, 12:52 AM.

At trainer level 50, assuming every feat slot was used to increase stats (including taking League Member and the Engineer class, since both give you +2 to a stat for one slot), a trainer's stats can total a maximum of 134. Acquiring 68 in both STR AND CON at once requires either some sort of homebrew, or misreading of the rules (probably regarding how stat boosting features work). In this case, I assume Workout is being treated as 'each time you do this, you get the bonus', rather than what it actually is (+1 per feat slot used, you have to keep exercising as often as the feat says or you lose all points granted by it), but if it's fun for your group, there's not really any reason to correct it. Especially if it might be the only thing keeping that character alive. |

Well it was definitely fun, but the character who runs Equeste is a Rules Lawyer through and through - Since I told him (In a 'Hey, you wouldn't believe this' kind of way), he's dead-set determined to make sure that it won't happen again on any of our parts. xD It's probably a good thing he misread it too - He was taking so much damage (Before any Damage Reduction bonuses - Take a guess on how many he'd taken) that he probably would've died first. Nobody's died yet (Unless we count Ryuji, but that was more of an excuse because the player had blatantly told us he didn't want to play anymore.), so it's still out there that he still might be first... Who knows~ Edited by Jarulso, Dec 30 2012, 02:51 AM.

We had a two-week break between sessions, which allowed for me to fill in some blanks in the campaign that I wanted to finish up. First off, I tried to pass some information along to my character's dad (who is a Capture Technologist, or developer of capture technology) to try and help him with creating the Master Ball. He wasn't certain if my design for the Save Ball would help him out at all, but I thought it would help with the process, since it's supposed to catch any Pokémon without fail. (Note: the Save Ball in this system is supposed to catch Shadow Pokémon). The second call my character made was to her boyfriend at home (a DMPC childhood friend that helped me get into the campaign). My character was distraught, since she knew the battle with the BBEG is looming, and she is fully aware that he would be able to Mindslave people (as the BBEG told the entire party). She requested he make it over to Olivine, since she is uncertain if she will be herself after the battle ends, and knows that he'd be the only one that could snap her back to herself. After the phone call, she went to beat Whitney. After beating Whitney (which was a similar to post-HG/SS Whitney), I mentioned to my GM: "I wanna go fishing." I think he was astonished by this, since we both knew what happened LAST time I went fishing... |
