Does anybody know of a tool that can randomly generate enemy trainers to fight? if so please leave a link or info about such things in the comments. To be clear i want something that can fully stat a trainer and assign features, classes, etc.

Hmm. I'll check this thread later tonight - if there isn't one, I might try my hand at making one. I'm still learning the rules, so I think this would be a great way to learn a bit more about them.

I don't know of anything like this off the top of my head, unfortunately. And while making a Trainer sheet a la my Pokemon Excel sheets is on my to-do list, one creating fully-statted Trainers at random is slightly further down that list.

Should one show up, I'd probably take a fair look at it.

I wasn't gonna be doing anything as fancy as an excel sheet. I was toying between javascript and flash, and I think I'll just do it in flash. I think I'll start working on it in an hour or two, but what I'm planning is, you input the desired level of the trainer and it will take care of the rest. Later versions might enable it so you can create specific classes or advanced classes. If there's anything anyone would want to see in it, let me know.

well first off i'd like to see everything editable, by that i mean if there is something you don't like about the sheet it should be editable. also while putting in the level is all well and good, you should also be able to enter a base class at least to make guide-lines. finally it would be great if for each feature to have the explanation along with it, and for the damage they can deal to also be listed.

I'll make it so that you can choose a specific base class or go with an "any" option. Great idea on descriptions - I'm thinking of listing the name and page of the feature (and damage, if applicable), and when you mouse-over the name, you get a brief blurb about it.

EDIT - Still pretty early in, but so far I've got it generating the 6 stats, and at level 1 assigning a class, taking into account prereqs and assigning stat bonuses and penalties. It handles stat-ups from levels, calculates HP, evade bonus, overland, surface, and underwater shift rate. At level 0, even though there's no class, it's assuming that the NPC will want to take a class, and will have 13 in at least 2 stats in a pairing that could let it take a class.

Tonight I'm gonna start putting in some of the features. One thing I'd like to know - how would people like to see adding classes after the 1st handled? Should they be checked like normal features? Should the computer check to see if it meets class prereqs first and try taking a class when it can? (I see this being a touch problematic in that it's more likely for the random trainer to have 3 base classes than to pick up an advanced class) Let me know what might be better.

well i would say put taking an advanced class as a higher priority than taking a base class or features since there are far more benefits in taking an advanced class. so yes to every thing there. also something you may wish to think about is weapon of choice and calculating base damage.

Progress is a touch slow, as I'm also helping my gf pack and get ready to move, but progress is being made nonetheless.

The current problem I'm trying to work around is assigning prereqs to features with non-numeric prereqs. Some of them I can just figure out what the minimum level would likely be for that to be accomplished, but for others (like Enduring Soul), they could be picked up as early as level 2. I might need to be assigning some other prereqs for these random NPC features/adv. classes, especially if the advance classes are gonna be given priority, or else you'll find a lot of them with 2 easy adv classes by level 3.

Eh. I'd say Enduring Soul's pretty easy for an NPC to get.
I mean, honestly, how many Youngsters and Bug Catchers are going to get knocked unconscious for their lunch money?
