This is the start of a new version of the GM Toolkit. The rest of the post below the dashed line refers to the older version which has some mysterious bugs that I cannot trace down.

This is a brand new version with quite a few improvements as well as enhancements! I am terribly sorry for the confusion that must have occurred. Anyway, here is the latest version, and this link will always be the latest version.

Latest Version here: Click!

Older Versions

----------
For those that remember my GM Toolkit, it had a rather buggy and incomplete Pokemon stat tool. This is a ground up rewrite of that portion only; a completely redone Pokemon Character sheet written in C#.

Here are a few features:

  • Randomized Stat Generation
  • Randomized Nature Selection
  • Simple Pokemon Generator
  • You can only add valid moves to a Pokemon*
  • Experience can be auto calculated to match the Level and Level can be calculated to match Experience.
  • Saving and Loading of Pokemon via INI files.
  • Complete detection and support of most capabilities**, including those added by moves.
  • Notes tab for each Pokemon to store specific notes about them.
  • All capabilities and abilities include a ToolTipText [a mouse-over text] that gives a brief description of the capability/ability.
  • You can have up to two abilities: One regular and one High [in compliance with the P:TA rules].
  • Tabbed Interface to support as many as you want!
  • "Recently Closed" list of Tabs to recall an accidentally closed Tab.

Now that that list is done, let's see some screen shots of the program in action:
Screenshots

There are a few things that need to be done however:

  • The Move Window needs to display valid TM's still; they are not done yet.
  • When closing a Tab, the program jumps to the first tab instead of remembering the last position.
  • Complex Generator needs to be finished.
  • Save-All needs to be finished. (Save currently works, so no worries)
  • Better support of Pokemon that evolve.
  • Incorporate Legendary Pokemon. (Yes there are no legendary Pokemon, sorry!)

*If you change to a different Pokemon, the move list is not cleared. I found early on that some Pokemon do not learn moves that their pre-evolution forms do, so this is the easiest way to keep track of things. I trust players will filter moves that are not valid, or that a pre-evolution does not know.
**If a capability is not supported yet, the program will show a small ToolTipText that says so instead of simply not displaying it.

This program has two downloads. The first download is the actual program, including the executable, some DLL files, and a "Files" folder that contains the necessary data to run the program. The second download is the optional Resources folder, which contains every single Sugimori-style Pokemon drawing so you can see a preview of the Pokemon, just like the screenshots show.

Installation of the Resource Folder is relatively simple: Just extract the Resource Pack into the same directory as PokeSheet.exe in a folder called "Resources".

Download PokeSheet Version 1.2.0 Here.
Download the Resource Pack Here.

There are a few missing Pokemon in the program, and for that I'm sorry. I thought I was missing Legendary Pokemon only. There will be an update released at some point with a fixed pokemon.xml file.

Wow I like this a lot! Which non-Legendary Pokemon are missing?

This is awesome. However, the total number of stat points you can add should be limited by one less than the Pokemon's level, because Mons don't get a point at level 1. Other'n that, it's really clean and seems to work well.

Just checked. It's not explicitly stated in the rules, but all the examples starting on page 135 in the PDF (except for the last one, which I presume is an error) have stat points equal to one less than level. Also, there's this:

PDF pg 136

- Starting at level 51, Pokemon gain two Added Stats per level gained. These two stats may not be put into the same Stat. When adding stats, a Pokemon’s Base Relation must still be maintained.
- Starting at level 76, Pokemon gain three Added Stats per level gained. These three stats may not be put into the same Stat. When adding stats, a Pokemon’s Base Relation must still be maintained.

I shall make these amendments inside the program, thank you for finding these.

As far as I know, Hydreigon (sic). I need to run a few tests to confirm which Pokemon I am missing and then work on integrating them into the program.

I have incorporated this successfully into the program. Thank you for finding these two rules. The next update will have this incorporated.

This is a *really* nice sheet, and I like its organization and presentation better than any other sheet I've seen. However, some more great features would be:
-Combat stages
-Egg move Compatibility
-Some space to write down what item the pokemon is holding
-A space for a third ability (to be used with Dream Doctor features)
-Some way to override the move restrictions (for use with Sketch and/or move tutor's "elemental unlock" and custom TM features)
-A base stat modifying column (to use with vitamins and/or Breeder's Natural Edge features, or Dream Doctor's dream training montage)
-Possibly a way to adjust type (if the trainer is a type ace)?
-Some way to tell tutor/TM/egg moves from level up moves (maybe have them be a different color, or allow the user to change the color if they wish)
-Possibly a little place for the trainer to jot down notes about the pokemon (if anything is particularly strange in a way that the sheet wouldn't prepare for)

(I tend to be most interested in classes that "hack" pokemon, so these are the things I notice)
