"Tech" class?

I'm working on an antagonist for my game where the closest analog would be the Super Nerd from the games. This person would not be an expert on Pokemon specifically, but on technology in general. I considered the Engineer class, but the "robot arm" seems really esoteric and a little bit silly for the kind of game I'm planning on running, and so many of the class features depend on it. Other classes that include a little bit of what I'm looking for include the Scientist, Petrologist, and Artificer, but all of them are focused in a direction that I don't want this character to go (not into mixing potions, not all about fossils, and not about Pokemon items). Basically, I need a smart, tech-capable class that isn't focused specifically on having Pokemon (i.e. the main features aren't entirely useless outside of battling) and is fairly generalized. Could anyone point me to either a homebrew for this or a way to modify the engineer to work without the mech arm?

If this is an antagonist and you've got GM control of him, I would say you should just pick and choose what features from whichever classes you find to be in-flavor and useful for him. No need to restrict yourself to a certain class as long as you know what you want to do with him. This is a plot character who should be driven to move the story forward, so as long as this character accomplishes that and doesn't completely step all over the faces of your players, I say feel free to mix it up!

Mix together things like the Engineer's Scanner, give him some special Pokebots (or even make his "Pokemon" robots to take it farther), if you go that route, try looking into some Upgrader feats, give him a Master Gyver-like (INT+WIS or INT+DEX) feat that applies to technology so he can whip it up on the fly (great for GMing fun contraptions quickly), heck maybe even give him something like the Dirty Fighter's Psyche!, Ball Buster, Hey Look a Three Headed Mankey, or Face! features when people move in close, or some holographic tech enables him to use the move Double Team.

Hope some of these provide some inspiration for you! :D

A mechanical arm doesn't have to be silly at all. Give it a proper description, and it will make the villain a hundred times more scary.

like it's stuck on the drill or blade attachment, and is pitted and red from the blood of his unfortunate victims, and instead of just an arm, it's also half his head?
