Hello, I'm new here and have decided to post a few of my ideas/homebrews here. The following is an advanced class for the Researcher that's based entirely around modifying pokemon. It's not 100% done and is likely overpowered. I want help in balancing it while fitting the theme still, as well as figuring out proper prereqs for the features and helping to streamline what I already have, possibly adding a cost to some of the features too, so, constructive criticism is welcome.

Geneticist Features: Modify Capabilities, Modify Stats
Modify Capabilities Weekly Target: Any pokemon Effect: You may increase the capabilities of a pokemon by a total amount equal to half your Wis modifier. You may not add to capabilities the pokemon does not already have and no capability may be increased to above 6. The pokemon's appearance changes as appropriate. This Feature can only be applied to a specific Pokemon once. This feature takes about 10 hours to complete.
Modify Stats Weekly Target: Any pokemon Effect: You may reduce one base stat of a pokemon by half your Wis modifier. Increase a different base stat by half your Wis modifier. The pokemon's appearance changes as appropriate. This Feature can only be applied to a specific Pokemon once. This feature takes about 10 hours to complete.
NOTE: The GM may choose to modify the move list of a pokemon affected by a Geneticist's feature to account for the changes.
The geneticist is one that studies the workings of pokemon, how they evolve and their biology, and eventually they learn to manipulate the genetics of pokemon in his care, whether already hatched or still in their egg. Few can match the variety and power of the pokemon in a Geneticist's care.

You may add capabilities the pokemon does not already have with a numerical value and may shuffle capabilities on a 1 for 1 basis. This Feature can only be applied to a specific Pokemon once. This Feature replaces Modify Capabilities. This feature takes about 10 hours to complete.
Modify Capabilities X Prerequisites: Modify Capabilities Weekly Target: Any pokemon Effect: You may increase the capabilities of a pokemon by a total amount equal to your Wis modifier. You may add capabilities the pokemon does not already have, including capabilities unique to non-legendary pokemon (like the Juicer Capability) and may shuffle capabilities on a 1 for 1 basis. This Feature can only be applied to a specific Pokemon once. This Feature replaces Modify Capabilities +. This feature takes about 10 hours to complete.

If the pokemon is a Normal type, replace it with the new type instead. The pokemon's appearance changes as appropriate. This Feature can only be applied to a specific Pokemon once. You may choose a different type for each pokemon that benefits from this feature. This feature takes about 10 hours to complete.
Modify Type + Prerequisites: Modify Type, Wis 25 Weekly Target: Any pokemon Effect: Choose a type. You can add that type to a pokemon or replace one of its existing types with the new type. If the pokemon has the Normal type, you must replace it with the new type. The pokemon's appearance changes as appropriate. This Feature can only be applied to a specific Pokemon once. You may choose a different type for each pokemon that benefits from this feature. This Feature replaces Modify Type. This feature takes about 10 hours to complete. Alternatively, you may remove a type from the target if it is a dual-type pokemon.
Modify Evolution Prerequisites: Wis 21 Weekly Target: Any pokemon with the ability to evolve Effect: You may apply any Geneticist feature you possess to a pokemon's evolution, even if it has already been modified by the feature before. These features only apply to its evolution. Its evolution's appearance is modified appropriately. Additionally you may increase or decrease the level required for a pokemon to evolve by up to your Wis modifier. This Feature can only be applied to a specific Pokemon once. This feature takes about 10 hours to complete. Alternatively, you may remove an evolution to increase all the pokemon's base stats by one for every stage of evolution removed.
Modify Evolution + Prerequisites: Modify Evolution Weekly Target: Any pokemon with the ability to evolve Effect: You may use Modify Evolution on a pokemon that possesses an evolution, regardless of if it was applied to it before or not. Additionally you may alter the evolution requirements of a pokemon. Check the table below for base numbers for any alterations to the pokemon's evolution conditions.
Modify Ability Prerequisites: Weekly Target: Any Pokemon Effect: You may change the ability of a pokemon to another ability its species may have. You may not select any of the pokemon's High Ability. This Feature can only be applied to a specific Pokemon once. This feature takes about 10 hours to complete.
Modify Ability + Prerequisites: Modify Ability Weekly Target: Any Pokemon Effect: You may change the ability of a pokemon to another ability its species may have, including High Abilities. This Feature can only be applied to a specific Pokemon once. This feature takes about 10 hours to complete.
Modify Ability X Prerequisites: Modify Ability + Weekly Target: Any Pokemon Effect: You may change the ability of a pokemon to another ability, even one not normally available to its species as long as it is not an ability unique to a legendary pokemon. This Feature can only be applied to a specific Pokemon once. This feature takes about 10 hours to complete.
Signature Move Prerequisites: Weekly Target: Any Pokemon Effect: Choose one attack Move on the target's move list. You make that Move a Signature Move. A signature move has several changes applied to it, the most important of which is that it cannot be forgotten by any means. A Signature Move has its type changed to match that of one of the pokemon's types, additionally, the move is altered in one of the following ways: the frequency is increased by one category (Center to Battle, Battle to EOT, or EOT to At-Will, At-Will remains At-Will), the Accuracy roll required is two lower than normal, or the base damage is increased by 5. If the attack has another effect (such as a status effect) the chance of it occuring doubles (for example, Charge Beam increases the pokemon's Combat Stage to Special Attack by 1 automatically). A pokemon can only possess one signature move. This feature takes about 10 hours to complete.
Signature Move + Prerequisites: Weekly Target: Any Pokemon Effect: You can alter the Signature Move of a pokemon in one of the following ways: Increase Frequency by 1 step (Center to Battle, Battle to EOT, or EOT to At-Will, At-Will remains At-Will), increase the damage by 5, reduce the accuracy roll required by 2 (if it's reduced to below 0 it hits automatically), doubles an effect that increases Combat Stage, or adds a an effect to the move that occurs on a roll of 14-20. This Feature can only be applied to a specific Pokemon once. This feature takes about 10 hours to complete.
Modify Group Prerequisites: Weekly Target: Any Pokemon Effects: You may add or change one egg group of a pokemon to another. The pokemon's appearance changes as appropriate. This Feature can only be applied to a specific Pokemon once. This feature takes about 10 hours to complete.
Frequent Modification Prerequisites: Wis 21 Static Target: Any one Geneticist Feature you possess with a frequency of Weekly Effect: Choose one Geneticist feature you possess with a Frequency of Weekly. Its frequency becomes Daily. This Feature may be taken multiple times, each time this feature is selected it applies to a different feature.
Frequent Modification + Prerequisites: Quick Modify, Frequent Modify, Wis 25 Static Target: Any one Geneticist Feature you possess with a frequency of Daily Effect: Choose one Geneticist feature you possess with a Frequency of Daily. Its frequency becomes Daily - Every 10 levels gained, you may perform this Feature another time per day. This Feature may be taken multiple times, each time this feature is selected it applies to a different feature.
Quick Modify Prerequisites: Wis 21 Static Target: Any one Geneticist Feature you possess that takes 10 hours to use. Effect: Choose one Geneticist feature you possess that takes 10 hours to use. The time it takes to use that feature is reduced to 5 hours.
Quick Modify + Prerequisites: Quick Modify, Wis 21 Static Target: Any one Geneticist Feature you possess that takes 5 hours to use. Effect: Choose one Geneticist feature you possess that takes 5 hours to use. The time it takes to use that feature is reduced to 2 hours. This Feature replaces Quick Modify.
Modify Egg Prerequisites: Wis 21 Static Target: Any egg in your care for at least half its hatching period Effect: Choose one Geneticist Feature you possess with a Target of Any Pokemon. Any egg in your care for at least half its hatching period may benefit from the chosen Feature when it hatches. You may choose a different feature for each egg that benefits from this feature.
Modify Egg + Prerequisites: Modify Egg, Wis 21 Static Target: Any egg in your care for at least half its hatching period Effect: Any egg in your care for at least half its hatching period may benefit from the any of your Geneticist Features when it hatches. This feature replaces Modify Egg. This Feature replaces Modify Egg.

I have seen the criminal class, and by extension the mad scientist, before, it's what prompted me to make this class, though for a different reason. I wanted to make a class that does the same thing, but does not harm the pokemon, even by causing discomfort. That and i wanted to add some things from the Glitch Modder, and several features from other classes to make it actually fit as someone who alters pokemon through direct genetic modification/manipulation.

well, I had originally intended it to be a way to increase the power of a single move, however, Arcran pointed out that it increased frequency, power, and accuracy of a move making it Crazy OP, so i decided it'd be a good idea to have Signature Move do the same thing as Signature Move + rather than boost all of them instead while keeping the main aspects, have a single signature move that cannot be gotten rid of that is more powerful than the standard.
As for the dual-typing, it's the same thing as with pokemon, if the move's dual type is stronger on one and neutral on the other it's x2, if the opponent is weak to both elements it's x4, if the opponent is immune to one type it's immune to the move, etc. However, the most important thing is that it doubles the STAB bonus because it has two of the same types as the pokemon using it. However, again i can see that being too powerful, so i may just modify or remove it.

This class is very good. Especially the type change ability (which type ace can only use a few times) they could do it ad infinitum. I love the idea though, will probably have bad guy npc's use it. Although I think this class is a bit too good in comparison to many others.

Although I think this class is a bit too good in comparison to many others. Yea, it is, but I'm trying to work it out to be not so powerful. Any ideas on how to make it more balanced?

honestly, it's just to flexible and powerful that I don't see how you could turn it into a pc class without gutting it. Nifty idea, but not anything I'd ever let my pc's use. Definitely might use it on an npc.

Perhaps the requirement to use some of the abilities could be steeper? or you could have these operations be expensive

Even then most of this is too good. An instadrop to Loyalty 0 and a high price might justify it, but it still would be a really strong class.
