Hello people, I'm looking into running a game with some friends soonish and wanted to make a few homebrew pokemon to use as starters. They're based on monster from the british isles since that's where the games set.

Now this may be jumping the gun a bit since I've only spend an afternoon at work working on ideas but since I've never done this before I figure I should try to get all the help I can. And wouldn't you know it, all the pokeheads I know are probably going to be playing and I'd like them to have SOME surprises.

I'll post the notes I'm made so far (which consists of names, types and descriptions) and when I've gone home and looked through the latest rules and done a bit of sketching I hope to have some pictures up and maybe some prelim stats.

But if people can check for glaring problems at this stage or suggest better names I'd be really grateful and offer things like internet brownies and maybe some sketches in return (if you like my art when I get it posted)

I'll stop rambling and post my notes now.

Cheers in advance

-Added pictures, due to the picture limit had to divide it into two posts (second half is now below)
-Changed the name of the first stage kelpie mon (frony to tadpony)
-replaced fighting/dark series with fighting/steel series based on jack the ripper

Hopefully the pictures makes this a little more interesting (even if they are just pencil sketches atm)
Didn't manage to get some prelim stats done because I had to help my flatmate out with something and drawing these took longer than I thought.
Like I said before though, any thoughts on these would be appreciated.

Ha ha, thanks.

I've shifted gears at the moment, I've decided to allow for more choice on the part of my players to come up with a concept 'mon for each element. This means I get to move some pokemon to more appropriate elements (kelpie and gargoyle to water and rock respectively). I'm also redesigning some of the existing forms because I wasn't happy with them
(certainly not preocrastinating statting anythign up, nope nosireee :ermm: )

I'm thinking of reallocating hat spider to bug/steel or something though.
Current list in spoiler.

Again, any random thoughts, criticisms or suggestions are welcome.

edit: added a link to a picture of the march hare fighting types.
edit2: And a link for the updated Lambton/Lindworm poison/dragon 'Mon
edit3: And a link for the redrawn Hunkypunk/Gargoyle rock/water 'Mon.
edit4: redrawn the hatspiders. Bug/fighting variant.
edit5: added concept drawings for the fire-type. Based on a hearth spirit from a welsh parable a friend told me (and Howl's Moving Castle.)
