What would be fun is a Tablet with an encyclopedia on it. So a Researcher could use "Did the Homework" anywhere. And with the flashlight/lamps/etc, maybe add details about how they recharge after 24 hours of non-use or 5 minutes if you have a Zapper Pokemon. |

Well that would basicly say that your survival types would have to either A) have a zapper or B) have tons of lamps/flashlights, think of a auto cranking battery charger, basicly, it shuts down after x time to start 'cranking' to recharge the batteries

I'm split; while I like the fluff of them, they mostly seem like just more prerequisites for existing classes. |

Thing is, most of this is covered by classes already. Why do they need a Poffin Case to make Poffin at the Machine? Isn't that what the Machine is for? Pokeblocks aren't in the system so why do they have a case? Same for the shakes. Flashlight, tent, and sleeping bag are fine, don't take over anyone's territory. The Cooking Set would just be another prerequisite to the Home Cooking Feature, which could be useful. The Incubators are just another thing for Breeders to have to deal with; I wouldn't make them spend the extra money for an item they don't really need. Seed Packet is interesting, but 10 Poke for one of every type of berry seed? This should be way more expensive. There already is a feature called Remedial First Aid; if a trainer wants to be able to heal they should have to take that. Field Center Kit: This should be a feature, not an item that any ole Medic can use. Poketech: Cool. Give it Pokedex functionality and it's a really good item. I like this one. And now, the fishing rods. I'm not a real big fan, but I'm not exactly sure why. I've never really liked set rules for this kind of thing, so I'm chocking this one up to my own personal opinion, not something you did wrong. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, just my own feedback on this. EDIT: Oops, forgot mini biomes and such: Minibiomes: Already exists, to enter Botanist you need the Portable Berry Planter. Excavation Kit: Already exists, look at prereq to Petrologist. Edited by Arcran, Mar 11 2012, 11:45 AM.

The Poffin Case would be so you can store them after you finish, and contains cooling racks, with the Seed Packets, it takes double the time to grow, so instead of 1d4+3 days, it's 2d4+6 days, which, mitigates the lower cost quite a bit, if you ask me, the Field Center Kit is quite expensive, so with how much the medic abilities cost they would have to be more calculating with how they spam stuff and would allow a party more sustainability in the wild. Incubators just make sense to me, but maybe I should rework them into giving a bonus to how quickly the egg hatches based on the type. The 'Biomes' would allow any one to grow berries and such, and would allow botanists to increase their capacity to do so. It gives more options for customization in my opinion. Also the Medkit would allow people to patch up fellow trainers without taking a feature to do so, and it only works for trainers, so they can't use it to heal a 'mon

Yes, but items that add this much of a bonus should cost a feature. Poffin Case makes sense. The double time to grow doesn't change the fact that it is basically 64 berries for 10 Poke. The time to grow doesn't offset at all. Field Center Kit is expensive, but it is so good that burning a feature should be required for it. Incubators used to be in the game but were removed. Not the ones you have, but the Egg Warmer ones. I could see them working, but should also end up being a feature if it is going to be for 'mons. The Biomes are not useful; people take the Botanist class to be able to grow berries; by opening it up to everyone that class is now much weaker. |

It's not really weaker, as they do a HELL of alot more than just grow berries, and any one can buy the berry case to begin with, as it is a prerequisit for being a botonast, not a botonist feature. The Feild center kit is class restricted, and makes sense that a Medic would be able to buy something restricted in such a way. and if you look at the average for the berries, the normal berry costs say....100 for an oran, if it takes 1d4+3 days, that's an average of 5-6 days to make 1d4 of them, which you could plant one of, and get another 1d4 of them, so lets say avg, you now have 3-4 oran, berries in about 10-12 days, with the seed packet, it takes 2d4+6 so, on avg, you'll get 2-3 berries in about 10-12 days, which would allow the normal planting method to get about 300-400 worth of berries, on average, in the time it would take the packet to give one 200-300 on average, if we went to most time to most produced though, it would be one week makes 400 worth of berries for normal, and 400 worth of berries in two weeks for the seed packet, so, essentially, the upfront cost price is lower, but the normal method allows one to build up a store of them more quickly, allowing them to more than make up for that. |

But look at Botanist:
They can only grow four. The class is meant to be the only ones that can create berries reliably. They can hold four at a time, that's it. Oran is the cheapest though. With that 64 pack of seeds you're getting Jacoba and Rowsap berries that are worth a ton of money. The fact is that you get all of hte good berries for just waiting a little while. The Field Center Kit is too good to just be an item; it basically makes half of the Medic's features obsolete. I think it shouldn't even be a feature. |
