These are the sprites I've used to make maps in MapTools, for the module I ran... and then the campaigns I ran... and am running... basically I ended up doing this for a lot longer than I thought I would. As such, I've accumulated a lot of sprites for use in MapTools (though they should work fine for things like Roll20 or other online sources, or even as quick print-outs).

A few notes:

  • I made the sprites for maps that use squares of 16x16 pixels, but I don't know that they'll break too badly if you use a different sized square. That's just their natural size in the games.
  • The people sprites are meant to be set to the "large" (2x2 squares) size in MapTools. They look better that way and don't require further fiddling.
  • Similarly, many of the non-person sprites will work best if set to their native (aka "free") size. A fair few of them don't fit into the nice categories of size that MapTools wants to put things in!
  • Now includes tokens from Gen 1-5, thanks to Thrice! And even beyond that, too!
  • Includes nearly every individual item in the Pokemon games, and even some from other games (that fit well with the aesthetic)!
  • Now includes Ribbons and Seals!

I've also attached some images of maps I've made with these sprites, so you can see what kind of trouble you can get yourself in with them. If you wanna use them, I've put a couple of my maps (including those in the pictures below) into another RAR file, ready for import into MapTool 1.3.b86+, HERE. If you're looking for even more maps, specifically ones meant for random encounters in a variety of environments, check out my Encounter Maps, made with these same sprites.

Lemme know if you find these useful, or can think of things that I'm completely missing.

Thanks to CWStra for the Alola 'mon tokens!

Thanks, EK. I'll be running a little bit of introductory PTTA tourneys on the side and these will come in very handy.

Protip for anyone who hasn't seen these: they look AMAZING in maptools.

*totally stoked for our next session*

Went ahead and updated the first post with an updated set of sprites. They now have tokens for Pokemon Gen 1-5! Also some interior space stuff, because I didn't have that before.

Bump! With an update - I've added ice cave tiles to the set, as well as a few additional custom bits, like more cars. They also now include the storage boxes that Xyless provided, split up into individual boxes.

Double-post bump. I've added a huge number of items to the tiles! (Like, over two hundred.)

I've also decided to not worry about the items being 24x24 instead of 16x16, so that helped a lot.

Update! I've included all the Ribbons and Seals from the video games in this update.

So, if you have a Coordinator or a Pokeball Designer in your party, rejoice! They can now show off their shiny, powerful baubles.

I suppose one could also use some of the Ribbons as Gym Badges - they are quite impressive-looking, so I doubt players will object to receiving one!

Update! I've added sprites for Autumn, finished off the Berry Trees (finally), added Berries, and a few other things as I came up with 'em.

Enjoy!

Between these and the excel sheet I don't know which makes me a bigger fan of yours Elemental Knight. Tough call really they both make life as a GM for PTA so much easier.
