Wow, this sounds great. 2-5 PST Tues fits perfectly with my schedule - an hour earlier or later, and I probably wouldn't be able to make it. Same time as the currently indefinitely-postponed Lagerros; I hope it won't cause schedule-conflict later if I apply for this one too. Saturdays, well, currently open, but I'm finally getting a job next week and the fact I can work Saturdays is a major boon to my boss, so I've no clue if that could work out.

The lieutenant sounds perfect for re-creating the swordsman I've been wanting to play for forever (now that Karl's dead), though there are other ideas I'd consider also. Really, really want to try out Watcher sometime. Suppose a Quartermaster or Supply Officer (or even a non-officer passenger) who's also a naturalist?

Hey y'all. I'm the other GM in charge of writing the story and such.

One question I did want to ask was what is the view on Rune master in this world? I just thought I should ask since perhaps it was considered blasphemy. ^^;

Go ahead. I'm going to write up a bit of flavor/background information on the world after this class. I'll make sure to ensure that there are no serious objections to running a rune master (Or any other class). Feel free to claim a spot and stating your characters, but I'd hold up on writing character backgrounds until I get the world bacground posted.

Wow, this sounds really interesting! Unfortunately, I'm in Australia (central time), so timing difficulties are a bit harder with me. I promise I'll try not to screw everything up too much, but if I'd really be making this a lot harder than they need to be, don't worry about it...

Tuesday afternoons would be impossible for me; that converts to Wednesday morning for me and I have a lecture at 11. Thursday afternoons or possibly Wednesday or Sunday would be better as my Thursday, Friday, and Monday mornings are pretty empty. Friday or Saturday mornings would be the best as I don't work so my weekends are completely free.

If we can find something that works, though, I'd love to take part! I've never played a game of PTA before or played an RPG online (to be technically correct I've never played an RPG online that got far enough for me to introduce my character before it collapsed), so I also apologize if I screw anything up! :$ (I'll try not to, though!)

As for what I play, I don't really mind any way - I have a couple ideas for characters but nothing specific - but just because it's my first time I'd rather not play the Captain. Other than that! :)

(Also, KujiUn: your avatar is awesome, and that's really all there is to say on the matter.)

Alright, some flavor on the world and info on the ship.

The continent of Esprin: A landmass that contains much of the known world. The nations of Esprin have just entered the age of sail and exploration. Most of the nations of Esprin are monarchies that worship the climate trio.

Major Nations

The Kingdom of Fearowsland: A large military power on the continent of Esprin. Fearowsland consists of many tribes united under a king. The unity of Fearowsland is questionable at best, however since the king came into power there has always been some sort of external threat to allow the people to focus their agression. Fearowsland is a traditionaly landlocked nation and thus has a powerful army and almost no navy. Fearowsland has obtained several port cities during their war with Aquastan, and is prepared to launch its first seaworthy warship The Breath of Rayquaza.

The Aquastan Empire: A young nation small in area but large in naval power and influence. Aquastan broke off from Garringia several decades over religious and political disputes. The people of Aquastan worship Kyogre alone and consider Groudon and Rayquaza to be evil beings. Aquastan recently lost about half of its land to Fearowsland in a brutaly one sided war. Their navy however will surely pose an obsticle to the PCs.

Garringia: Fearowsland's strongest ally. Garringia is a massive economic power with lots of natural resources. Their navy is formidible but by no means a match for that of Aquastan. They have virtualy no standing army, instead relying upon Fearowsland mercanaries in times of war. Most player characters with any previous sailing experience will have served as a privateer or a mercenary based out of a Garringia port.

Other Nations (Will be expanded upon as they become relevant)
Groudonblessed: A natuion under the control of a young and ambitious king. They are militarizing rapidily and may pose a threat in the near future.

The Feather Tribes: Tribal groups ethinicly and culturaly similar to the people of Fearowsland who have yet to fall under control of the crown.

Ashington: A rival nation in a state of constant war against fearowsland. Ashington has a merchant port, but have yet to invest in a navy.

The State of Sky: A naval power that rivals Aquastan in strength and wealth. Sky policy dictates that any poorly defended ship at sea is fair game for their navy and privateers. They will mostly likely leave the heavily armed Breath of Rayquaza alone unless it is sorely outnumbered.

(I may add more nations later)

The Breath of Rayquaza

This ship began life as the Sheer Cold a state of the art Aquastan Warship that was captured by Fearowsland while it was under construction. It was completed and renamed in hopes of founding a navy for Fearowsland. The ship is currently stocked and staffed for either battle or exploration.

Assest of The Breath of Rayquaza

17 guns
2 gun decks
1 crew deck
1 cargo deck
1 upper deck
2 masts

1 Medical Facility
1000 charges of Pokemon medical supplies
250 charges of human medical supplies
(The medical facility can restore a Pokemon from the brink of death to full fighting condition in a matter of hours at the cost of a single charge. It takes 2-3 days to do the same for a human being)

Cargo Deck
50 crown standard balls (-3 to capture roll)
45 days of food for a full crew
500ft of rope
1 spare sail
250 cannon balls
250 rounds of grapeshot

Crew:
25 sailors (keep the ship sailing, may carry Pokemon)
20 Fearowsland Army regulars (Kick ass in combat on solid ground, likely carrying standard issue Spearow)
20 Mercanary Marines (Good at ship to ship combat, can fill in for soldiers or sailors in a pinch, likely carrying Pokemon)
7 crown rangers (Good at dealing with wild Pokemon, may have Pokemon companions)
3 docters (keeps the medical facility running)
1 chef (prepares the food)
5 officers (The PCs)

As you can see there will be some management elements to this campaign. Don't expect the NPC's to be too useful without PC leadership.

Ahhh, this is so exciting! Everything sounds really interesting! :D

I do have a question, though: I might play a female character, but I'd like to know where the setting would stand on that. Is this going to be pretty realistic, in that it's all but impossible that a woman could be serving on a ship like this? Or is it some kind of magical PC alternate world where that's perfectly normal? Or somewhere in between? If it's too unusual I'll just play a male character; that's fine as I haven't actually come up with any definite ideas yet and being true to the setting is more important to me anyway.

In keeping with Fallacy's request, any specifics you can think of for the kinds of ages, backgrounds (now that we have some nations), etc that would be likely to be involved? I tend to generate the fluff before statting out a character and having some of this knowledge starts spinning the gears that generate tonnes of ideas... for better or worse! ...So knowing what's unlikely to work or what kind of things I should aim for should help staple things down.

Hmm... Not even quite sure we can work out a time to play with you, but if we can I'll find a way to make a female character work. I don't want to play in a magicaly PC universe, but a female character will spice things up a bit. I'll do some thinking on the matter.

Edit: I'd say mid 20s-early 30's age wise. I'd think most of the officers would have a background in the royal court, army, or the navy of another faction. I'll write more fluff and stuff later, I have to get to another class.

Thank you! I don't want to be too much trouble; like I said, if everyone can agree on one time except me or something that's fine. I'd hate to be keeping everyone else just because of me! But I appreciate the effort! :)

So, this is a bit tentative still, but I'm going to go ahead and apply for Lieutenant, a 'swordmaster' (Martial Artist/Weapons Master) officer who comes from a well-established Fearowsland military family. Son of a famous general or something. Character theme is sword-based pokemon; Gallade, Scyther, Kabutops, Kirikizan (if Gen V is included), etc. Possibly makes custom 'swords' for other pokemon to wield (more fluff than mechanical). Fights alongside his pokemon in combat.
Starter - Ok, you say starter can go as high as lv 20. Ralts evolves to Kirlia at lv 20, who can then immediately evolve to Gallade with a dawn stone. Could I start with Gallade? I ask this purely for character/storyline reasons, and it's no problem if the answer's no. I'd even be willing to start with some disadvantage to even it out. It's just that the image of a dignified, sword-wielding combat officer accompanied by ballet-dancing Kirlia doesn't mesh well in my head.
