Welcome, welcome, I am BigTentacruel, Lewys to some, Warren to others, Frostfire, Kevlar, friend. I welcome you to your opportunity to participate in a new campaign. I will take 5-6 people at the maximum, so post quickly. I will be running my game on sup/tg/'s IRC server at a time negotiable by my players and my own schedule. My rules are very much like those of RioCadaro's. A large amount of your character will be decided on an in-game basis, so what you put in will be what you get out. Here are your... guidelines to character making. Level 1 Trainers. That mean you get 1 feature, 1 stat point, etc. Up to a maximum of 1 level 10 pokemon. You get to stat it out yourself, decide its nature, and it can be any pokemon with some kind of an evolutionary tree, so no stand-alones like Pinsir. Cross-Classing got released, so if you want to do like... Ninja and Ace Trainer, we can talk about that. Prior to game time, write up a bit of background for me. It doesn't have to be much. Just a kind of where your character comes from, where he wants to go, what his motivation is, etc. Any other questions, feel free to ask. I intend to make the plot happen in game, but here's the gist of your world. Lagerros is a land shrouded in mystery. It exists in its own isolated system where seafaring is very difficult without heavily experienced navigators. The archipelago exists as a chain of islands surrounding a central mass. The central continent is vastly unexplored due to hostile conditions. Expeditions there almost never return. The continent is the centerpoint of the archipelago, around which the islands revolve. The islands are strange landforms that do not remain stationary except in a few cases. They spin at varying speeds around the central continent, making travel very difficult. Towns settled on these islands tend to be isolated, but some communication happens. There exist mapmakers in this land who have studied the paths of the islands, which are fairly consistent, but lately the islands have been acting strangely. They have taken erratic patterns of movement, jumping location without warning. What is causing these patterns is unknown... That's it, I think. Oh, and you get $1000 to start. Prices are as listed in the games. You can find those lists on Bulbapedia. Special hold items and such are available at request. What you get special relies heavily on roleplay and your character's background. Any further questions can be PM'd to me or IM'd to me. I'll probably ask who you are if you come knocking on my IM door, though. If you want to ask me about Lagerros further, locations and such, that's how you get to me. I may ask you for more details than what you give me. Don't be discouraged. You can gain extra bonuses and cross-class exceptions for good reasoning in the background. I'm a flexible guy. I heartily encourage special requests. Who knows, you might get it. EDIT: Here are the confirmed players. Players: ForteZanzo playing "Mick" with his Zuruggu, "Ramon" Prospector playing "Cael Raptor" with his Gastly, "Wisp" Ramiel playing "(Name to be decided)" with his Growlithe, "(Name to be decided)" Drewski playing "John Jones" with his Shimama, "Fast Thunder" (Reserved Spot) playing "Hikaru" with his Pichu, "(Unnamed as of yet)" Edited by BigTentacruel, Jan 17 2011, 12:28 AM.

Gah, quit tempting me! It sounds great; I've already got character concepts flying through my head. I want to apply so bad, but there's no way I could reasonably fit a third game in. I think. Just hold out a few days and wait for it fill up and I'll be safe. Have fun, people. EDIT: Then again, being super-busy may be good for me right now, and help me get out of this rut I'm in. Eh, if it's not full in a day or two, I'll apply. EDIT EDIT: Gah, the more I read, the more I want to apply. Even if I don't, I'd still like to hear more detail about Lagerros, if you don't mind. EDIT x3: I know you didn't make it, but did I ever mention how much I love your avatar? Yeah, I really need to get to bed right now. So tired I' m going loopy. Goodnight. I'd love to play, and should be able to swing a second game. Got several character concepts I've been dying to try out. If I'm in I'll flesh one of them out into a real character. Edit: 5th gen or no 5th gen? Edited by Prospector, Jan 5 2011, 12:39 AM.

5th Gen are fine provided they still align with the original statement that it has a family tree. Also, while I won't include any right now, you can probably expect homebrewed Pokemon to appear. I love homebrewing Pokemon. |

Interest. Just wondering but why are we there? Are we a research group or just the general adventurers? I have like two concepts I want to use based on that. |

Just to let you all know, I'd like to open this up especially to players who aren't currently in a campaign and would like to be. I don't mind having players from campaigns I'm participating in play with me, but if you're not currently playing and want to play, please, by all means, come participate. Fun is to be had by all!
Ah, perhaps I need to clarify that. Your reasons for being in Lagerros are your own. Maybe you were born there on one of the islands, at which point you will probably need to talk to me privately about your history, important lands and names and such. (Who knows, you might have been born on an island with something interesting on it, ruins or a Gym or something...) Or, perhaps you came to Lagerros for study. The region is a very different place than most, with different Pokemon to be found and strange climates calling unusual events into being. Maybe you're just there to see the sights. You've got on your +0 Uncursed Hawaiian T-Shirt and have your +0 Uncursed Camera in your hands ready to take back the Amulet of Yen- I mean, see the world! All number of reasons for being there and living there and existing are possible. Not only do I welcome questions about Lagerros itself, I expect them. Creating a region is tough and my ideas don't cover everything, so I guess I'm kind of outsourcing by having you poke and prod. Think of it as a world that is being dynamically generated to suit (or not suit) your own intentions. I encourage potential players to contact me via IM if you need something specific, since PM takes forever, though however you choose to contact me is fine. |

Hmm so care to tell us if were going to be plot driven or Gym driven? I was really hoping for a game focusing on exploration and free for all battles. That way I could make a cool hunter charater. |

This will be whatever you make of it. So far as I'm concerned, if I get players who want to seek out the gyms, they can, and if I have players who want to go and do their own thing, they can, and if I have players who want to chase a plot that I design, they can. Hell, you can do all three together if you want. I intend not to be driving this campaign. You will be. I'm just building and moving the world around you. EDIT: And contests. If you want contests, we can do contests. I shouldn't leave out such a fun time to be had by all. Edited by BigTentacruel, Jan 5 2011, 03:00 PM.
