Hey guys, A lot of great game ideas fail to take off because of difficult learning curves (Dwarf Fortress being one exception). I think the community could benefit from a "dumbed-down" game that would be free to observe, easy to jump in on, and run by a patient and experienced GM. When I say dumbed-down, I would suggest: -No trainers fighting alongside Pokemon in battles -Limited classes (Just the simple ones?) For something this simple, I'd suggest using the online dice roller ( http://rpgp.org/dice/?p=group ). Anyone wanna participate? |

I'd like to play, but I'm still not even familiar as to how to play, and even less as to where I can play at. If anyone can tell me where I can play with other people at, and maybe help me learn how to play, it would be much appreciated!

While I'm hardly an experienced GM, I wouldn't mind running something like this if no one else stepped up. Though I've never run anything via a chat program before, I usually use PbP. Maybe if done on a forum that way other people can watch? Also allows for an explanation of rules and such, almost like a full game tutorial (similar to the combat tutorial that's already in the book)?

I think PbP stands for "Play by Post" which is a term used for playing RPGs on forums via posting in topics. I'd like to play in this game as well, since I've not had a chance to play this system at all yet and would really like to be a player before attempting to GM my own game. Personally I don't mind whether it's played in a chat program or a forum, either's good for me. Though I have still to learn how to use Maptools so if it's played using that I might make a few mistakes lol. |

Okay, so I'll just come out and say this. This is the first time that I've ever played an RPG game that wasn't on an XBox. =/ Soooo, I'm not all too familiar with how everything works =/ |

Keota's correct, it's played on the forums, which allows for more flexibility on schedules though likewise the pace is much slower. I've never used Maptools myself, though I have tinkered with it on occasion. For reference on how a PTA forum game works, I'll link one of the recent battles in my campaign over on Myth-Weavers: http://www.myth-weavers.com/showthread.php?t=115162&page=8 Obviously for a tutorial-styled campaign there would be a lot less roleplaying and a lot more emphasis on the rules, combat, etc. I also wouldn't hide GM rolls as I have in that example. |

Okay so, that website, even if I just try typing it in the search bar, will NOT come up. It's like my computer refuses to go to it. |

I have maptools and I'm still learning, but it looks like the best medium for the RP. TentacleLoveGoddess, you seem to be the best for the job. If you could set a time that would be most efficient for you, we can all meet then over Maptools. If you'd like, you can also post a second time for people who miss the first one. Does that sound good?

Unfortunately my schedule right now is a bit too hectic to run something real time. >< I'll play around with maptools though and get myself acquainted with it. Hopefully you can find someone with a bit more flexibility to GM, sorry! If no one shows up and my schedule clears then I'll let y'all know.
