Okay! So... for those of you who were ever part of this campaign, since it has been called off... here's the spoiler reel. Trying to find where to begin is the hard part of this @_@ Q: Why'd all the events happen underground, anyway? A: In the original draft of events, Professor Richter had taken to the role of "Jack" - the young man they'd found with amnesia when they first discovered the gateway two years ago. Richter had come to the conclusion that Jack had, in fact, come from a point in time on the other side of the gate, and wanted to arrange things to have the gate opened to take Jack back and travel back himself (PokeFutures as a group had come to the decision they would hold off on opening it until they could do so without risking harm to anyone). He was the one who leaked out the information, attempting to draw others in. Q: So the gate was... A: An entrance to the time-space corridor that Celebii uses to travel throughout time. By the way, the Missingno you fought within was actually just a Dunsparce. Q: Okay, so we got thrown through time. What was supposed to happen immediately? A: *The west group, riding high on a mixture of suspicion and religion, would be confronted by Larix, who would possibly be considered something of 'one of them' with his ability to talk to his own Pokemon. His goal was supposed to be to attempt to convince the princess of the tribe to offer up the stone she's just come into posession of to open the gate. Unfortunately, a lack of co-operation would've slowed things down... and then bam, one night, the 'Dream Relic' goes missing, an artifact of the village that is supposed to prevent the 'shadow of dark dreams' (Darkrai, of course) from descending upon the village. When he does show up a couple days later, Larix and those joining him would end up fighting it to try to save the village (or maybe for more selfish reasons)... and in the end, be challenged by Kris, who's intent on taking Darkrai for himself. *The east group was in the midst of celebration over one of the regular pokemon contests they have, where one of the local competitors (one of the player characters) would be competing, prompting Bastian to join. One way or another, the group would eventually be going to investigate a spacial rift that had opened on one of the northern islands, finding equipment there from PokeFutures tech. This wouldn't be the only such occurance - it turned out to not just be people transported from the present time, but also much of the building's structure itself... *The northern group - once they got their act together - would be welcomed fully into the village. For Warren and Kris, who were seeking out Toby, they'd get quite a surprise when they couldn't find him, instead lead around on a hunt for the missing boy by a young man of their age seemingly quite capable. If nothing else let them catch onto the man's identity, however, his use of a Golem to battle would have tipped Warren off... Toby had arrived in the 'past', at a point in time several years before anyone else, and was now an integral part of the northern village as its leader! Q: And from there? A: This is where things get hazy, but there would have been several threads that would have to be followed through. *Kris continues to hunt legendaries. He shows up in several of the locations to try to capture them when they appear, almost like a vulture. His drive, as he had stated, was to have the battle to end all battles with Eules. His original motivation? He was forever driven by an obsessive rivalry started in childhood, but while Eules had grown sick of their fighting and even the romance hidden on the side and left, Kris had never gotten over it. He found out about things and basically lured Eules in to go to the past in order to restart their rivalry, and if nothing else, have one final match which would be the most legendary-packed Pokemon battle in history. *Speaking of whom, Eules would be discovered to have taken the seat of absolute power in the southern tribe, possibly with Alex (now an NPC) at his side. And his goal? He was intent on opening the gate again. He'd originally opened it up in the intent of returning far enough to the past to fight Arceus at the dawn of creation, for no other reason than to see if he could do it. In his time since disappearing he'd chased down and fought almost every Legendary in modern times and was convinced very little could challenge him... *The fake Mariam that you had all met in the underground would show up to kill one of the NPCs carrying a stone and steal it from them, starting up a huge chain of suspicion. She wanted to return to the almost-present... specifically, to the moment in time when the plot of Diamond and Pearl was going on. She, "Marise Stellas", was once named Commander Mars, and wanted to return to when commander Cyrus left for the Distortion World to join him. And heaven help anyone who wanted to stop her. The method through which Eules would seek the stones was less secretive than Mariam, however: when the suspicion between the areas pumped up and all the stones had been located and were held, either by freelancers or tribe members, Eules would begin mobilizing the southern tribe's army to claim them by force. As tensions rose, the nature of the "Calamity" would become pretty obvious to those who were aware it was coming: A great war was going to break out, with Legendary pokemon of all sorts being used in a free-for-all clash that would have been written into the history books - had it not wiped out the entire region as a result of nature being forced around beyond all control. And the result of the great war? ...Well, that was up to you. Q: So, those eight stones... A: Remember how Kris said how they had no idea how the tradition of the Pokemon League, and searching for 8 badges, began? ...That was a part of the past that you could have changed :3 |
