I don't think anyone but the Snagger should be able to use a pokeball to capture another trainer's pokemon. Especially seeing as Steal Pokemon does not reference Loyalty.
Hmm. Good point...

My attempt at making the Boss class. Kind of just an upgrade to the Executive, with a few new features. I kept the Steal feature similar, so sorry about that. I also apologize because I don't think I'm very good at this. Let me know if I did a decent job of doing this in Styx's absence; I'm not very familiar with creating custom classes (this and the Executive are the first ones I've made in any tabletop RPG ever).

Just had a thought while sleeping on a new Criminal Advanced class. I can only write the gist of the idea, but you can gain the general idea and build from it.

Essentially it is a Criminal class to represent the 'evil rangers' of the ranger games.

This is awesome. I was thinking the other day about how much fun it would be to play a Dark RP version. My group likes to battle rather than RP much.

As I said before I love what you've done. I've since started a criminal game and will be writing my own version. I'll be sure to post it here.

Hey you all. I've decide to start revising the Criminal listed in Paradox Haze, found here, with Gents's permission: http://paradoxhaze.wikidot.com/criminal-class

I've finished checking over Criminal, Lasher, Burglar, and Biker, and now am working on Executive and Merchant.

However, I have ran until a dead end. Specifically with Mad Scientist. I am considering scrapping it (Upgrader does a better job of this), but I will need something to replace it. Any ideas?

Using the "Boss" concept that was thrown around certainly wouldn't hurt.
Though, personally, I think that if any go it should be Merchant, not Mad Scientist.

It just...
Feels too "legal" compared to the rest of them. Even the Poke-trafficking, to some extent.

EDIT: Looking at Upgrader, it does certainly do a lot of what Mad Scientist does, however i'd say it isn't integrated that well.
The "5 upgrades on one pokemon in a week causes loss of one loyalty" seems a completely arbitrary number - having an eye taken out and replaced with wiring, a helicopter rotor stapled to your back, artificial gills cut into your cheeks and an onboard boat motor built into your arse shouldn't have your pokemon feeling completely fine, only for a small chip implanted into their arm to stop thieves to send them over the edge and down a loyalty.

The mechanics of EVERY Mad Scientist feature being labelled as "extremely uncomfortable" is better, in my opinion, as the GM can decide whether a loss of loyalty is appropriate, based on the scale of the surgery. This way, you can't drastically alter the pokemon's make-up and capabilities - without risking it's disfavour and massive loss of loyalty - by essentially gaming under an arbitrary number.
With the Mad Scientist, if the GM wants it to be so, then EVERY experiment can cause a loss of loyalty, which would certainly make you think twice before turning your pokemon into walking piles of scrap.

Oh, and I would advise that the Executive gets some kind of paying feat.
Having Executives payed the same as when they were mere grunts is kind of silly.

>Merchant going

Merchant is pretty much the only class (now with Investor going bye-bye very soon) that actually does something economic.

Mad Scientist already has plenty of other things to go for.

However, needless to say, Merchant will be reworked.

Anyways, as people have pointed out with me, Mad Scientist has one of the worst returns for a class, as most, if not all, of its useful features are straight Weekly.

Bluh bluh I never seem to think when I need to.

Mad Scientist is going to stay the way it is, and will not be axed. The only thing I can change is the cross-classing.

Why?

Simple. I have no idea how to support Mad Scientist in its current form.

There's usually two reasons for this: it's good as it is or it's so horrible that it needs to be overhauled.

I'm going to go it the benefit of the doubt, and work on the others.

If I could make a request, maybe an Assassin trainer class? Not as much like Ninja, more like a fully stealth based that waits until they can make a single, devastating attack?
