Sorry about that, I didn't expect people to log in like that.

Okay, I'll be taking Emong, Halfwing, Garlyle and Strawberry Milk.

Other players can join in, too, on a Gym Trainer or Random Trainer basis, I guess.

I was just going to make my home town/region in pokémon form, but do you guys have a preferred region?

To answer your questions -

Starters will be a random choice of mine, unless you guys really want a certain type of pokémon, otherwise, you'll find out when you have to pick.

The campaign focus will definitely be on exploration and having as much diversity as possible (to test the mechanics) so there will definitely be minimal "GRINGGRINDGRIND" time, unless you specifically choose to do that.

I will try my best to run pokémon contests.

Money will be fairly easy to get. Trainers have it and sometimes wild pokémon will have it, too. you could also get it by doing odd jobs (with your pokémon, of course.) and the like.

A full campaign is the intention, or at least as far as we can take it.

If anyone has ever heard of Lake Maracaibo, of the Venezuelan province of Zulia that's the place I'm going to model our region after. It's got cities, forested peaks, mountain-side villages, dusty plain towns, rain forest, caves, a giant lake ect so it should provide a neat place to explore.

Edit: I'll be using Fire Red/Lead Green graphics, btw. Is that ok?

Sounds good. Given that this is a test run, I definitely am all for trying to do a whole lot of different stuff.

Are we going to be beginning at Level 0 then?

Sounds good. I'll probably do up a character sheet soon, then.
I was pondering a Psychic eventually going Empath (with something else that I haven't decided, quite possibly decided simply by circumstance), so yeah.

Of course, I'm very flexible, so if someone else wants to do something like that, I'll step aside and come up with something else.

Character sheets are WAY to easy at 0 level.

The only thing you pick is how your stats are divided. And you name.

The rest is for after you get pokemon/levelup.

Also, I was thinking about being a Coordinator, as I already said.

Can turtwig be my starter? I do love him so.

Yup.

...But, in another way of looking at things, the first steps are the most important. Figuring out early on what I intend to become, loosely, what goals to work towards - and making sure I have what I need to get those things? That's what's really going into it.

And of course, in the process of deciding what that character will be statistically, comes the step of deciding beyond just stats - character concept, a rough idea of a background and looks, their personality; all those things are worth considering.

So, yeah, character sheet might be fast, but... yeah. At the very least I intend to look at things a bit deeper than that.

Sadly yes. However there seems like there are more then enough people who want to play to create your own.

Oh, cool. I'll whip up a character sheet at some point today.

I'm fine with a homebrew region, though what sort of pokémon can we expect? Like, what generation, type, etc. will be most common?

Other than that, I'm fine with anything you choose.
