Hello everyone. I'm a Pokémaniac. I've looked for a decent Pokémon RP system for months but everything I came across was crap. Since I'm lazy, I ran some freeform games instead. The games I've run can be separated into two categories. The one I like and run at cons is called "Pokémon Through The Ages". So far I did a Stone Age game and a Feudal Japan game. For those, freeform worked wonders, because they were based on story rather than battling and they were one-shot con games anyway. A system would have just gotten in my way and I'm not planning on abandoning freeform in the future. The other category is "regular Pokémon game in the regular setting", which I was forced to run against my will when people demanded a game. I ran that twice too, but when I had no system and no time to think of a decent story we just ended up going through the video game.(Except my players decided to beat up the Bug Catchers in Viridian Forest rather than have Pokémon battles. I have troublesome players.) I was not satisfied with that at all. If I'm going to run a Pokémon game in the current setting without a "very serious" metaplot, I want that to be a campaign, not a one-shot. Otherwise it's just going to be beating people up again. And if I'm going to run a campaign, I'd like a decent system so that players will be rewarded for playing. Until this, I hadn't seen even an attempt for a Pokémon system that wasn't utter crap.(And once again, I'm too lazy to make an attempt myself.) But this...this is awesome. Thanks guys. You rock. |

Hey peeps. Name's Stopwatch. When I was a kid, I was a huge fan of pokemon all around. Now that I'm older, I lost interest for the show and card game, though I'm still a big fan of the games in general. Also, to me, mystery dungions is a good idea that just didn't work out. I've been hoping to find a tabletop pokemon game for some time. I, however, do not do good at searching for things on the web for one reason or another. (Seriously, I do have knowledge on operating a computer. Granted, I'm no expert, but I at least know the very basics.) I was lucky when someone on another site sort of refered me here. He more so proposed us having an RP on this table top game, so I came across here. As for my favoriate pokemon, I can't really say. There are some that I like a lot, such as Machop, Machamp, Delibird (He's so cute. ), Buizel, and Golurk. I couldn't pick a favorite though.

Hello all. I'm Awe Striker (or AweStriker, AweStriker Nova, etc. Sometimes it's already taken.) I first discovered P:TA when a thread for it popped up on another board. I was intrigued, decided to check it out (this happens for a lot of things), and was genuinely impressed. My favorite types are Ice and Electric, I haven't played Black or White (yet?), and I can't help but feel that the people who designed the Psychic's advanced classes were taking cues from Golden Sun (another beloved game of mine). |

I love the Golden Sun series as well. Oh, also announcing the triumphant return of one of the boards most vocal members. Tremble before my blathering puny mortals! Tremble and purchase large quantities of earplugs! |

GREETINGS!! My name is EviIPaladin (Evii, not Evil) and I found this brilliant system about a year ago, I believe. I found it incredibly cool and showed it to a great deal of friends. More recently, as a member of TVTropes, I was happy to see it had its own page but yet lacked a discussion thread. Upon starting it up, many people stumbled across it and found it quite the interesting system. Like Awe Striker, who is a fellow Troper and is in the campaign I will be running shortly. So while I could go on for ages about how awesome this thing is, I'm sure you all know this so I'll just say that I'm glad to be here and can't wait to GM it. |

Hello Everyone. Phew! I read every post in this thread! I have been playing TTRPGs for about 4 years now, mostly 4e D&D, which I have had great fun with. I prefer to DM/GM, as I get to use my creative side. I have played P:TA around a year now. I am GMing a new campaign this coming week at my new community college. I am little nervous, since most of the times I played or GMed there was severe issues with the classes, particularly the Fighter and Ace Trainer. When I played, I used a Magnetmite named Confundus Magneticum!, or Magnum for short, and with much fun being had. My favorite types are Dark, Steel, and bug, with Scizor being my favorite (big surprise, huh⸮) I lurk /tg/, /co/, /v/, /po/, /m/, and /b/. I am interested in learning how to play and GM online, but not just P:TA. I am an avid Magic: the Gathering fan, and am pursuing an art degree. I would also like to get a tripcode for /tg/ since I am working on a M:tg rpg and a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. rpg with an infusion of real-robot mechs . Thank you for this board and your time! |

If you want to play or GM online, IRC or maptools seems to be the way to go. I have to say, I prefer maptools - if only because it offers everything IRC does (instant chat, dice apps) and visuals to boot. |
