The Totem Template; Making pack leaders in your game.

In Pokemon Sun and Moon, we were introduced to "totem pokemon", various creatures that had a power boost and protected certain areas for the island trials. Though some of them were strong and called in other pokemon that made some of the battles a little more frustrating, they didn't really bring in anything more fun or unique about their encounters since other pokemon in the wild have been found to do the same things. This certainly wouldn't translate too well in a tabletop setting, so I decided to make a revised version of them with this template.

The Totem Template can be added to any non-legendary species of pokemon. A pokemon with this template becomes larger by 1 size category, all of its base stats increase by 2, and it gains the Pack Mon (if it doesn't already have it) and Totem Capabilities. With this, any allied pokemon within 10 meters is treated like they have Pack Mon and gain its benefits from the Totem. If the totem is targeted by an attack and is by an adjacent ally, it can redirect that attack to said ally. The totem is also automatically encountered with 1d6 other pokemon chosen by the GM or at random from the habitat.

This could be a good template to use to make a pack leader for a group of wild pokemon, especially if you want to do horde battles with one stronger pokemon leading them.
