Psychic has three elementalist classes. So here is a new normal elementalist, focused becoming a mirror of the current battle environment. Tell me what y'all think of it.

Mime
[class] [+Speed]
Prerequisites: Elemental Connection (Normal), Novice Guile, Novice Charm
Static
Effect: You gain the Copy Master Ability You also learn the move Copycat.

Mimicry
[+Speed]
Prerequisite:Mime
Static
Effect: You gain the Mimictree ability You also learn the move Mimic.

Trace
[+Speed]
Prerequisite: Two Mime Features
Static
Effect: You gain the Trace Ability

Watch and Learn
[Ranked 2] [+Speed]
Rank 1 Prerequisites:Mime, Adept Charm or Guile
Rank 2 Prerequisites:Rank 1, Expert Charm or Guile
Static
Choose two moves to learn from features rank or below.
Rank 1Rank 2
AssistEntrainment
Me FirstRole Play
Psych - UpReflect Type

Morph
[+Speed]
Prerequisite:Three Mime Features, Expert Charm or Guile
Drain 1 AP - Standard Action
Effect: Use the move Transform, this effect lasts for 4 rounds.

Master Mime

[+Speed]
Prerequisite:Master Charm or Guile, Watch and Learn Rank 2
2 AP - swift action
Trigger: You use a Mime Move
Effect: The effect of this Feature depends on the Triggering Move. You may only use Master Mime with each Move once per Scene.
  • Reflect Type: The target loses that type.
  • Assist: You may choose the move after the target is randomly determined
  • Role Play: The target loses that ability until roleplay expires.
  • Psych: Up - The targets Combat stages are reset to default
  • Entrainment: target gains the ability until end of scene
  • Me First: The copied attack ignores all resistances and immunities and flinches the target it hits.
  • Mimic: Moves copied by Mimic are disabled from the source as long as it is copied.
  • Copycat: Copycat may be used at range 10, you may shift before using the copied move, and this use does not count against copycats frequency.
  • Transform: You may use Transform as a shift action. If you use Transform as a Standard action, the effect lasts until end of scene.

Please be aware that trainers do not learn Moves just by having Connection Abilities.

Unless that's a Word of Dev ruling, Domo, I don't think that's true. In fact, as far as I can tell, there's no official way for a Trainer to actually GET a Connection ability so it's never actually been a rule that's needed mentioning one way or the other.

Domo is correct. You can also essentially treat Domo rulings as dev rulings. He's basically a dev now with how much he helps us out, and he's been in our playtest campaign for nearly two years now.

Fair enough. Out of curiosity, why is that, though? Because I know that in .05 the only thing vaguely similar is move-based Capabilities and Trainers do get those. At least, I'm 95% sure they do.

In the Blessed and the Damned, Palkia's Major Gift grants the Transporter ability.

Nomad

Effect: You gain the Transporter Ability. Note that this automatically grants you the Move Teleport.

First there was the new Charlatan class, now there is a new Mime class. Now we're clearly due for a new version of Ice Cream Man.

I jest. Granting a move and an ability on the same feature (which I assume is your intent) seems pretty powerful. Perhaps have the base feature grant copycat and mimic, and the next one grant one of the connection abilities?

Thought it did. Ill fix that.

I don't really value combat stages as powerful. And the moves copycat and mimic are really situational, with little control over what will be available in a given scenario. But getting both moves as the base would be neat, if getting both features would be possible without becoming a eight feature class.

why is that, though?

I vaguely assume the ruling is because Skill Swap and Entrainment. I've certainly daydreamed before about the shenanigans possible if this were to work - particularly due to the abilities for Transform and Mimic. (Sylveon and Gardevoir have access to both Skill Swap and Trace, allowing a trainer to temporarily gain any Ability in the game)

Connection: This keyword is followed by a Move, with which the user has an innate connection. Upon gaining the Ability, the user learns the Move, forgetting another Move if necessary. This Move cannot be forgotten through any means. If the user has 1 Tutor Point, they may immediately spend it to gain the “Advanced Connection” Edge and avoid forgetting any Moves.
Doesn't seem to have a specification for Pokemon or exception for trainers.
