Partly inspired by noticing Infatuation could easily be re-fluffed as Fear with the exact same effect (without the February Playtest, anyway - not quite as much with it, but can still kinda work), partly inspired by how meh the Infatuation status and Attract in particular are to me, and partly inspired by how it's always vaguely bugged my OCD how Terrorize is the only one of the Manipulate Maneuvers to not inflict a named status effect. Infatuation: In addition to its RAW effect, you need to pass the Infatuation Save Check from the core rules in order to deliberately Shift away from the target - that is, Shift such that the distance between you and your crush in greater than before. You can move closer or stay where you are without issue. Also may generally encourage the target to stay in the encounter. Fear: Same effect as Infatuation, excepct the save check is instead required to successfully move closer to whatever combatant you're afraid of. Also may generally encourage the target to leave the encounter. Instead of removing temporary hit points, the Terrorize Manipulation inflicts Fear for full round, against which the target does not get a save check. The move Roar also inflicts Fear on all targets(which they then immediately lose if they get returned to a pokeball, of course)...possibly. Not sure about this one. Pick just one target in the Burst to inflict Fear on, maybe? You can be inflicted with both Infatuate and Fear at once, but if so you only roll one save check per turn to resist/be-cured-of both statuses. Fear can be cured by anything which can cure Infatuation. EDIT: Oh, Flirt ought to also get an extra little effect in order for it to not be strictly worse than Terrorize with this in effect. Could be the same can-only-use-at-will-moves effect, I suppose, but that's kind of boring. Or that at-will-moves effect could just be removed from Terrorize, so it only inflicts Fear and Flirt only inflicts Infatuate. Thoughts? Edited by Zen, Jun 8 2017, 09:50 AM.
