Hiya, internet peeps! It's Har, your friendly neighbourhood crazy man! The other day I was thinking to myself: "Golly jee, Har, you know what's fun? Homebrew." Now, I've tried my hand at brewing up some home-made classes myself in the past, and well... they weren't all that great. So, I've decided to leave classes to the semi-expert non-paid professionals, and take a stab at something completely different. Thus, I was wondering, if not classes, what else do we never have enough of? Then it hit me! General Feats! Edges! ... Other Stuff! So I went down to the Herald Cave, put on my thinking shades and got to 'brewing. And now, some unspecified amount of time later, I've finished up this batch and am ready to release these Odds and Ends of Homebrewing out into the wild! Many thanks to the always awesome Haybalebarn and the exceptionally spooky Revanschist for helping me out with getting these things just right! That's enough nattering from me, now for the fun stuff! New Features New Edges Assorted fun stuff Changelog Thoughts, comments, criticisms, declarations of love, ritual sacrifices in my honour? Edited by Harbringer of Insanity, May 25 2017, 02:00 PM.

I'm a bit worried about the "Burst of Motivation" feature. It looks kinda strong for "Daily x2 - Free Action" or maybe the amount of AP. But I liked the stuff you posted, I may even put them into use in my campaign.

I'm with Sandshrew on this one. Here's how I would do it: Burst of Motivation Prerequisite: Adept Perception or Focus Daily - Free Action Effect: You regain 1 AP. Burst of Motivation may be used X number of times a day where X is half of the largest of your Perception or Focus. Strong and it still scales, but it's not "lol lemme get 3 AP real quick" strong. Oh, the reason I didn't comment on anything else is because it all looks good to me. Edited by l33tmaan, May 24 2017, 08:37 AM.

Honestly, I don't think it's that big a deal, all things considered, though I will admit that I should probably put some limiters on the use of the regained AP, and make it so you can use it only once per Scene, as well as put a cap of 3 on the amount regained, (on account of Virtuoso). |

If you say so, it's your game. I've got a bunch of low level trainers and nobody has more than 6 AP, so my perspective might be different from yours. I realized my numbers were off, though - my version of the feature results in giving you less AP overall. Yours gives out a maximum of 6 AP in a day, while you'd only be able to get 3 from mine. I would re-change mine to where Burst of Motivation may be used X number of times a day where X is your Perception or Focus, whichever is higher. That way it still gives out 6 AP, but you can do it more often for less payoff. But the limits you put in place are good, too. |

I might also boost it to Expert for Burst of motivation in terms of requirements. Regaining Exp is nothing to scoff at with chain lightning running around, so players should be willing to make a choice between the bonus ap and other expert/master level features to make it less of a 'always take at lv 1/3' type feature |

Yeah, that shouldn't be a Feature you can pick up at level 1, too. Otherwise a lot of people would take it because "dude AP lmao". |

I suppose I can see what you're going at, though I'm not entirely certain if raising it up to Expert is quite the solution. Keep in mind that both Hits The Spot, which allows you to craft Hearty Meals which grant +2 AP capacity for the rest of the day to up to five and Moment of Action, which dispenses an endless supply of AP to two people (granted, not to the PC using it, but still) are both entry level Feats, requiring nothing more than the stuff needed to get into the class. Honestly, I'd be tempted to say that in comparison my little Feat, which grants, at best, 3 AP, twice per day, is almost underpowered, balanced only because it's obtainable for everyone and cause it has a slightly higher prerequisite. I guess it's probably best to make sure you can't get it immediately at first level, but I don't think locking it to after level 6 would really be that great an idea (though I will admit that's at least partially cause a part of my intent was to give more General Feat options obtainable at level 5 for the sake of the bonus feats). Perhaps make the Prerequisite be both Perception and Focus, instead of either, at least locking it behind second level, and that only if the player wants to spend his first Adept Skill Edge on getting it? That's true, but I personally think Chef is one of the most OP classes in the game, so let's not use that feature like it's a good place to start measuring power. Plus, they're Class Features, not General Features - anybody could pick up Burst of Motivation and it could fit into any build. It's a good feature and I really like it, but I don't think it should be available to totally inexperienced characters. Even at level 6, you're effectively gaining 50% of your max AP in a scene, and that's if you only use it once - nothing's stopping you from using it back to back to totally refill your AP. If that's your intention, then go right ahead. I don't really know anything about balance, at the end of the day. EDIT: To prove I'm retarded and don't know anything about balance, look at me thinking that level 6 characters have Master level skills. Edited by l33tmaan, May 24 2017, 03:34 PM.

Well... for starters...
So that would kind of put an end to that. But anyway, that's besides the point! What I might do, is force lock the feat at level 5, along with the skill Prereqs. At that point, the amount of AP you get is 2, 1/3 of your current max AP, which is a lot more reasonable |
