Hey folks! I'm making this post less as an administrator or long-time contributor, and more as just a member of this community. Normally, I don't like bringing politics into this community - this is a place to talk about a fictional world we all love, and the adventures we can have there. Real-world politics just gets messy.

However: I think this is an exception. FCC Chairman Ajit Pai has recently begun the process of ending the rules of Net Neutrality.

What's going on? Why should I care?

What does this mean for Pokemon Tabletop?

So, what can I do?

Thanks for your time. I encourage you to discuss the matter in this thread, if you feel so inclined. Just remember that hateful speech won't be tolerated, and I'd have to put my Moderator hat back on and scold you - so if you disagree with someone's policies or politics, be sure to do so in a reasonable, polite, and civil manner.

Chairman Pai believes it will help competition among ISPs
This is code for "you're about to get fucked".

Oh lord, looks like either there's a major bot attack hitting the site, or someone's spamming them. There's tens of messages with verbatim copies of what has been said by others pasted in. Media manipulation at its finest.

Done and done. Thank you for bringing up this matter. I always hear about threats to the internet, but am never sure what to do about it. This was helpful, and I am genuinely hopeful.

Sadly not a US citizen, but a Brit, wishing you good luck in not letting this pass!

I'm also REALLY worried about Net Neutrality here in the UK, since NN is actually a part of the EU rules. And with Brexit happening... yeah... I don't forsee Net Neutrality being a thing here in Britian.

On the "bright" side, it'll mean almost all ISPs will be based out of Britian. So... yay for economic growth?

Wonder how long it'll be before "homebrew" ISP hardware becomes a thing...

I celebrate that day. The corrupt ISP institutions need to be brought down with the force of a million screaming claws.
