I don't like the big bag of random minis from China that my friend bought for $15. It's always nice to have something real to put on the mat, but most of them look... shoddy. Plus it's very difficult for me to keep track of a bunch of pokemon when I have to refer to them as "Slugma 1 (Pikachu), Slugma 2 (Darmanitan), Slugma 3 (Slugma)". It slows things down unnecessarily. But who the hell sells tabletop minis for pokemon? Nobody, that's who. So I just made some. I won't say it was quick, but it certainly was fulfilling - I just bought a bunch of the little plastic things you stick under your furniture to keep it from moving, made a page's worth of icons for the pokemon, printed/cut them out, and stuck them onto the adhesive. It works like a charm, they're very lightweight, durable, and they look stylish, if you ask me. Now, they do have adhesive on them, so they can be a bit sticky, but not enough to leave any residue to things, they just sort of... lightly stick to things sometimes. Mostly each other. I imagine that will go away as they age. If you've got photoshop or GIMP or whatever, I highly recommend doing this if you're willing to put the energy into it - your party will probably appreciate it a whole lot. The only thing I would do next time is print out the pokemon on a fancier piece of paper and perhaps increase the printing DPI, but that's about it.

I am forever amazed at people who manage to play this game on a physical map, man. Props, they look damn good. |

Oh, I totally forgot to mention - I'm sort of at a loss on how to do Large and... larger monsters. My players have an Onix, for example. I can't think of what to do except to somehow connect 8 of the smaller tokens together and have rocks on most of them or something. But what about a Druddigon or Zebstrika? Any tips are gladly welcomed. Edited by l33tmaan, Mar 9 2017, 09:20 PM.

Seriously, it's not hard. I'd be happy to upload the image files for the tokens as I make them, but some of the images I got from Deviantart through a google search and I'm not sure how kosher it is to just post that around here. |

It's tough, but I have always preferred physical interaction, to virtual. We play with a bunch of my Dungeons and Dragons Minis, with Dungeons and Dragons maps for a more real feel. I also use the Plastic made in China minis lol. |

![]() Second batch is out! I finally figured out how to make Large pokemon - just four of the smaller tokens clumped together work just fine. It's actually the way the Magic Sliders come packed! Edited by l33tmaan, Mar 24 2017, 08:57 PM.

They said I was crazy. It wasn't worth the effort to continually redraw where Huge pokemon were on the map, just use a static 1x8 or 2x4, I was told. I refused. Madness took hold of me, and in a fit of inspiration, I finally figured out how to make big-ass pokemon. BEHOLD!

What adhesive did you use to stick the paper on the "tokens" if you don't mind me asking |
