Game mechanic question . . .; Pass Keyword for Pokemon Moves

Hey everyone. Quick question that would greatly influence my play style. The Pass Keyword for Pokemon Moves states that when at any time during a Shift that the move can be declared. Does the Disengage action count as a Shift since it states that you Shift a single square? Just wondering. If Disengaging does count as a Shift, then great! If not, then it's not a problem. Thanks to anyone in advance for the time to answer.

Unless I've been playing PTU horribly wrong, then yes, Disengage is its own Shift action, and you move one square unless specified otherwise.
