So.... i have seen a lot of posts about how to GM, what to do, what to use but by little bits everywhere. Why not make a pinned post (not this one, a more professional post maybe, this one is the idea) about what resources you use as they are the most time consuming to make or research, it would be really good for new GMs coming on the forum. Also this forum is one of the most active about GMing and Pokemon that i know, so good job on you guys!

FOR PTU

For the excels :
- Treasure Tracker for players that want to scavenge
- Critical fail table (didn't have time to make one but really should for when no inspiration)
- Gameplay and homebrews are things to remember (WARNING: FRENCH)
- Starter pokemons and wanted pokemons, always good to remember when making a scenario
- Scenario with what they did, discovered, don't know, will do, will need, here is mine (WARNING FRENCH)
- PTU 1.05 Sheet - Version Dunsparce (Roll20 and Sheets Import), really useful excel sheet that prefills itself, one by player and easy as a copy/paste with the roll20 add-on.
Excel Sheet
Roll20 Add-on (just take the Roll20 JSON Export part into the dunsparce sheet)
- Pokemon sheet by type with the dunsparce sheet and prefilled attacks, good for placing wild pokemons easily
- Loot table by merchants (WARNING: FRENCH), mine contains homebrew items
- Elemental Knight's Excel, can do PC quick calcul, GM quick calcul, random encounter generator, reverse breeder, trainer's pokedex and easy breeder.

For the pdfs:
- all the basics PDFs like core, Got, indices and ref, etc...
- a PDF only with the classes, edges and features that my campaign uses so i don't have to open 3 PDF to check a class
- a PDF only with status, capabilities, abilities and move keywords for fights

For the graphics:
(for the maps: I mainly use TILED to make all the unmovable structures then add barrels and boxes and destructible/movable things into Roll20)
- Tileset for Tiled (WARNING: HUGE)
- Some maps (for the Tiled files, you will need to have the exact tileset used)
- Some maps on maptool, another program like roll20 but more complex
- Then you have all the sprites, objects, effects, houses, pokemons, characters and all for roll20 (I recommend that you tag them for the search engine and make folders as you import them into roll20, it's really a time saver) Take what you need

All the resources here are not all mine but result in hours and hours of research on the web. If you are one of the authors and have a problem with one of the sharing, don't hesitate to contact me.

For API in Roll20 (need a monthly subscription):
- Aura/tint health color, it applies color to characters as they pass defined thresholds of HP, great for tracking HP of ennemies without the HP bar showing
- IsGM, a function API needed for some API
- TokenMod, modifies tokens by macros more easily
- TrackerJacker, tracks the character turns and whose turns is it, applies status (paralysis, confusion,...) really easily
- GroupInitiative, rolls initiative for a group of tokens and add them to the turn order

For macros in Roll20:
- Apply-status
Quote:

!tj -listfavs
need the status defined in the favorites of trackerjacker
- Clear-all-status
Quote:

!tj -stop
remove all status on all tokens, for after a fight for example
- D20
Quote:

/r d20
always good to have one for critical fail table or other
- Groupe-initiative
Quote:

!group-init
just selection the tokens you want to add to turn order before
- HELP-SCRIPT
Quote:

?{Script?|!group-init --help|!token-mod --help|!tj -help|!aura|!wp menu}
launch the help page of those scripts
- THE-LAST-CHANCE...
Quote:

[[1t[Last-chance]]]
need a rollable table set up, it's just a table with 4 endings for when players are in conflict with the GM, they roll this macro and see, the 4 endings are something like [The gods help you/You succeed by next to nothing/You failed next to nothing/You failed yourself and the others], i roll it when they whine on the difficulty or want to do something cool but it failed
- Metronome
Quote:

&{template:default}
give me the page and attack done by metronome in the indices and references pdf
- End-turn
Quote:

!eot
, the players can end there turns themselve
- Shards-Research
Quote:

/r 1}+?{Bonus dice?|0})d6>4!t[Recherche-de-shards]
need a rollable table with all the possible colors
- Roll-stuff
Quote:

&{template:default}
to use with the loot table excel
- Récap-mob
Quote:

/w gm &{template:default} {{name=@{selected|nickname}}} {{Overland=@{selected|Overland}}} } } }
recap the token you have selected only to the GM, useful for the evasions and overland, the def and spe def are on the blue and red bubble of the token for me
- TurnTracker-start
Quote:

!tj -start

- addfavory-status
Quote:

!tj -addfav ?{name}:?{duration}:?{direction}:?{message}
configure the status for the trackerjacker api
- edit-status
Quote:

!tj -edit
delete, add or change the status of selected tokens
- CWStra's macros and API, macros for quickly reminding you of your initiative, moves and skills, also come in the form of an API

For sites :
- PTU Panoramic Panda Pokemon Generator, a good generator for pokemons, uses it when you don't know what moves you want on a pokemon for example (WARNING: not up-to-date with 1.05)

For programs:
- Discord, useful app for organisation, Out Of Context session and question/response between players and GM
- World Scribe, organizes your world and make the references collides, useful for keeping a world without incoherences
- Scrivener, same as world scribe but with organisations tools for making a scenario (WARNING: NOT FREE)
- Foxit, uncluttered pdf reader

So here it is, what are yours?

Also, feel free to tell me any errors i have made in this post, it's a big post and i'm not native english so Excuse my french please.

Uh... I've got a notebook with some graph paper and a Google Docs folder setup.
Reminder to use graph paper to plan maps if you don't play on the computer, it's way better than trying to freeform it. Oh, and I use http://www.ptu.panda-games.net/ for statting out pokemon or generating wilds, although I am aware that it hasn't updated for 1.05. Oh, and it's great to have a list of (almost) every move in the game available.

I've made these macros for R20, and they're pretty useful in general. For those who have a Pro subscription, there's also this API script, which has more or less the same functionality as the macros.

 • EK's spreadsheet
 • World Scribe on my phone. Scrivener works too, but it's handier to have a mobile app for setting reference.
 • Roll20. The notes and ability to present maps is always useful, but the unlimited logging is much more so. I need to constantly re-read sessions to keep up with my games.
 • Discord for OOC and organization. I imagine it'd be amazing for people who do voice games, as well.
 • a nice, lightweight PDF reader (Foxit)

Never heard of World Scribe but it seems really useful for having references, does it exist a same program but on PC? (writing on my phone seems rather unproductive for me)

I will add your tips to the first message. Thanks all.

Obsidian Portal (https://www.obsidianportal.com/) is a similar PC option, though it's more of a database for the whole group to use vs. a private GM tool. Kinda like a wiki for your game, which can be very good for the right group.

Nice one, tested it a little and loved it, my campaign is too far advanced in the scenario to be worth the effort of transferring everything but i will definitively use it for my next one.

Other than PanoramicPanda's P.T.U. Tools, i can't seem to find a pokemon generator. What do you use for pokemon creation?
