Oh, damn, that's so obvious. Dark/Ghost - of course it steals its food wherever it can. I assume the pokemon world has a ton of natural gem caverns to sustain the Sableye population, because wandering around in a cave looking for a quick bite doesn't sound very efficient to me. Plus, the Pokedex straight up says it digs through rocks to find gems to munch on.
How many changes are in the 1.06 Pokedex anyway? I assume all the pokemon from Sun/Moon haven't been added yet, so is it mostly rebalancing? Edited by l33tmaan, Jan 23 2017, 09:15 AM.

I think that the truth is much darker than just stealing.... In Sun/Moon, it explicitly states that Marinie/Toxapex hunt Corsola for food. You catch Marinie when a Corsola calls for help and it arrives, only to attack the Corsola. You catch Sableye in Sun/Moon, when Carbink calls for help. And Sableye appears, only to attack the Carbink. It's the exact same predatory behavior. |

Well, Carbink is a gem pokemon, so that makes sense. However, I still don't get why Gabites eat them. Gabite is a fine pokemon, but why is it the predator of a fairy... rock? I'm just going off the pokedex entries, as I haven't played Sun/Moon yet. Do Sableyes try and eat the gems off other Sableyes? The world may never know. |

Gabite are only in the desert, so I have no idea where they're catching Carbink. But they do like collecting jewels. I guess jewels that aren't trying to flee for their lives are more convenient. |

Then again, it's a flying lamprey that lives nowhere near water, so who knows if they even know how to swim... |

Also there's Archen, who is specifically pointed out in both the games and anime as a flightless bird that just hops around, yet somehow it has 4 Sky. Not fixed in the Playtest Pokedex, either. |
