I just finished making some minor boss characters for my party to encounter inside of a haunted mansion during my campaign. It was once the home of a rather prominent, yet reclusive family, and one day the International Police showed up out of nowhere and announced that there had been a double homicide and the only daughter was being taken away to a foster family because of how young she was. Unknown to the party, the girl was actually possessed, as the family has been practicing occult magic for generations, and she was the one who killed her parents - the foster family was merely a cover story to explain why they took her away.

So now that the party is here, I was inspired in another thread to have some ghostly mini-bosses to frustrate both the party and the main boss. What's better than the the owners of the mansion? Because this is a special encounter, they can't just have turned into regular pokemon, so I made them into a pair of Frillish - the male turned into a floating skull with tentacles of bone holding a massive club, and the female turned into a floating brain and eyes with a nervous system attached - with a gnarled root growing in place of where one of her eyes should be. Given that I can't think of a good reason for them to be uncatchable, I don't want them to come off as too overpowered, yet they're still mini-bosses, and they should be able to back it up. They'll creep the party out before directly engaging, but tell me what you think of them so far. Their move lists draw from a Frillish and I replaced their Water-type moves with ones I figured to be more appropriate. Since they're both ghostly, they should both be able to draw life from their prey - and since I've been homebrewing any Gen 7 changes so far, I figured the Skullish could use Leech Life to cover a couple of its weaknesses. The Mindish just stays alive by gaining tons of HP from Parabolic Charge and I might consider swapping Ominous Wind with Flash, just to make it more annoying to hit.
Keep in mind, I am trying to stay within the rules as best I can, although I'm not opposed to them being slightly overpowered for their level.
