Nope! That's because of how the order of operations for damage works in this game. You'd take the initial damage base of the move (3), multiply it for each time it hits (5), then add STAB (2), giving you a DB 17 move. You find find this on page 237 in the Core book:

Oh, that's much more manageable, thank you. Stuff like that can be hard to find sometimes. I decided to go with Bone Wielder anyway since I wouldn't want this already barely-recognizable Frillish to be more overpowered than a Marowak of the same level, although I guess I would let Bone Lord replace Pressure if the players caught the male Frillish. |

DB 14. The February Playtest nerfed Bone Lord's effect to four hits, and STAB isn't added until the end of the calculation. (3 x 4) + 2 = 14. Edit: Whoops, missed noticing there was a second page in the thread. Well, at least I can point out the Playtest change. Edited by Zigniber, Dec 31 2016, 05:49 PM.

We haven't been using the Playtest rules, as we're still learning the rules as it is - we've only been playing for 3 months so far. Are they a significant enough improvement to start learning now, or can we do it after I've given my players ridiculous power boosts in a couple sessions? |

With 1.06 coming soon(but maybe so not so soon, hard to say), I think you can go on without the playtest rules and convert to 1.06 when the time comes. As for the Frillish idea, I would say just go for it. It's important to let yourself have fun GMing a game. And the room teleportation bit is just using the same mechanic as in BW2, the house would loop the PC back a couple of times.

Thanks, I totally went for it. Let's hope 1.06 is nearly finished, because I can't wait to see what improvements have been made. While I'd still like to see any stories of other GMs making their party chase or be chased, it looks like this thread is winding down a bit, so I'm just going to shamelessly plug the link to my Frillish thread. |
