Pokecrafting Rules

---

The Chemist loses his 'Playing God' edge, instead gaining the ability to craft Mega-Stones (Not Rings) for 3000 Poke-dollars.

-----

There is a new Researcher field called Pokecrafting, with it's features laid out below;

Early Poke-Crafting;
Requires: Novice Tech;
You learn to craft an egg of Koffing, Trubbish, or Grimer for 1000 Poke-Dollars, this egg is just like a normal egg of the Pokemon, but it hatches in a day. In order to craft the pokemon you need a chemistry set (or similar area of work). Additionally, you may choose a number of upgrades below equal to The number of Poke-crafter fetures you have.
1. The Pokémon is of an unusual coloration, gaining a +2d6 Bonus to the Introduction Stage of a Contest toward a single Contest Stat.
2. The Pokémon adds a Move from its Egg Move or Move Tutor List to its Inheritance List. This may be performed up to 3 times.
3. Increase one of the Pokémon’s Base Stats by +1. This counts as use of a Vitamin. This may be performed up to 5 times.

Altered Poke-Crafting;
Requires; Adept Tech Education, Early Poke-Crafter;
You learn to craft Magnimite, Voltorb(Regular), Solosis(Regular), and Porygon(Clockwork). You may now chose the Nature, Ability, and Gender (if appicable) of your made Pokemon. (Abilities chosen from its species’ Basic Abilities).

Poke-Crafting Expert;
Requires; Expert Tech Education, Early Poke Crafter;
You learn to craft Castform, Solosis(Homunculus),Rotom(Data Lifeform) and Porygon(Regular). Your made Pokemon are born at level 5.

Poke-Crafting Master;
Requires; Master Tech Education, Early Poke-Crafting, Altered Poke-Crafting;
You learn to craft Golett(Either), Rotom(Regular) Baltoy, and Honedge(Either). You may now chose 2 abilities when making a Pokemon instead of one. Additionally, you may pick from a Pokemon's advanced abilities when choosing their abilities.

Small note: At any point the GM can say you can craft a new Pokemon or that you can't craft a Pokemon on your list if he wants (it might/might not fit fluff wise and/or he wants to give you a buff/nerf or something).

Edit: Altered Poke-crafting Master, Added Variants (from DPDoM and GoT). I didn't add Unown because you will generally only have one Variant of it and their entire point is mystery. (Same reason I didn't add the other Antikythera Pokemon).

---

This is my first home brew so it is probably bad and unbalanced, so can people please give me constructive criticism on what sucks and how I should fix it.

I'll be fair and admit I'm biased against the idea of a class that crafts Pokemon from nothing, but ignoring that, it's really a pretty good setup you have here. There no (glaring at least) balance errors, though there are a couple of typos in the prerequisites of some of your features (mostly pertaining to the base feature). If I were to offer advice, I'd say fix those up, then maybe slip Grimer or Trubbish in there with Castform and Porygon to make it line up with other recipe-granting features in the class.

Thanks for the balance feedback and for noticing the typos. Also I know that the idea of creating pokemon is weird and certainly isn't an important or fitting thing to add in most games, this was more from feeling the Cemist's 'creating life' feature didn't really make sense in context and deserved its own thing.

Small Note: The features are based on different milestones, these are the milestones:

Basic Poke-Crafting: You have figured out how Trubbish, Grimer, and Koffing are created from trash and how to replicate it.

Altered Poke-Crafting: You have figured out how to recreate the factory accidents and basic engineering that created Magnemite, Voltorb, Clockwork Porygon, and Solosis. As well, you have figured out how to fine tune the Pokemon you create to a higher degree.

Poke-Crafting Expert: You have learned how proper modern invented Pokemon, like Castform and Porygon, are made, and also how Data Lifeform Rotom and Homunculus Solosis are/were made through old textbooks and working backwards.

Poke-Crafting Master: Through learning the old ways of how Golett and Baltoy were made, you learn more on how to engineer the soul of a pokemon to make things like Honedge and Rotom.
