That sounds a lot like the waiting room which got cut out because it was useless. The best way to get a game is to look for an open one over here.

We used to have that, but it wasn't useful.

It's a GM's market, not a player's. Every game that comes up you have practically everyone jumping at the chance.

There's also the fact that most people have gone over to Pokemon By Post for play by post games mean that the Looking For Players forum is used even less.

But everybody wants a game. It's why they're here. To have a forum full of people saying so would be redundant, wouldn't it?

in a way i guess yes, on the other hand if people posted what they where looking for in a game, not only could a gm find a player they could like but ideas for a game if they didn't have one before. but hey thats me.

This is why I was against closing the waiting room, personally. Yes, not many people used it, but now anyone who would have wanted to use it is just told to wait until someone else advertises a game, while many times the reason why these people want to put up an advertisement is because the type of game they're looking for is a scarcity, which can sometimes be attributed to the fact that it appears to potential GMs that people aren't looking to play a certain type of game, a typical catch-22 if I've seen one and discourages the heck out people. Even recently, I wanted to ask around for a GM for a specific type of PbP game for a close group of friends, and since there isn't any appropriate place to put such a request, I simply put it in the most related forum on Pokemon by Post (which luckily has been picked up after not too long but I prepared to wait for a long time, if ever.)

That being said, I know for a fact that it's a GM's market for PTA/PTU, so you really don't see people picking up GMing positions for games anyway. I just never quite got why people felt like the waiting room needed to disappear, as if it were an actual waste of space. It didn't seem like there was any actual harm in having it, other than the occasional person posting a thread in the wrong room.
