I'd get rid of one damaging Move, one status Move, and all of the Field Moves. Then you'd be left with 3 damaging Moves and 3 status Moves per Pokémon, a new take on the classic 6-Move limit. If Field Moves are things that can only be used out of battle, then it feels like they don't need to exist as they are right now, and that whatever they do can actually be handled by normal roleplaying with an appropriate Pokémon.

wow, you have a VERY good point there! like why do you need to learn surf in order to hold onto a pokemon while it simply swims? or why can't a scyther just cut some trees, even without the move cut? I'ma make those changes now, that's a very, VERY good point, and I feel that i'll help balance things out. The only thing that I have in mind is that half of every pokemon's move pool will just be railed to combat moves, or status moves, but, I'm going to keep that as it is, play around with it in some test games with high leveled pokemon and low leveled pokemon and just see how things go.

I might also end up changing the damage calculation to make things deal less damage overall to actually drag out higher leveled battles. However, actually landing a hit becomes more difficult in the current version, so that alone might drag battles out and make them much more epic to play out.

Anywhooo, these are all very good points, and changes shall be made.

UPDATE: I've finished up the pokemon side of things, and will now work on items and such things.

UPDATE: I'm ready to test the current state out, anyone interested in doing a 1v1 test adventure, just let me know, and it'll be rough, and I'd encourage commenting on the system and what should be in the rules as we test this thing out. Let me know in PM or on here if you are interested, I'll check in on a regular basis, multiple times a day or so.

i need to make the GM sheet first unfortunately T-T THEN I'll be ready >.>

Is this system built with a specific mode of play in mind, like for PbP or live play? Or is it universal?

I'm trying to gear the system towards universal play, anything from PMD to a regular classic pokemon game. That is why there is no distinction between pokemon and trainers, even to the point where I gave humans base stats, just like any other pokemon.

I think you should bring your concept here, then, and look for players there if you're ready to playtest.
