Oh, I like the pressurize idea, though it may be too strong if it raises damage twice. Charge gets away with it by giving defensive combat stages instead. Pressurize could be a type-shifted version of charge, though.

I like the idea of having a single basic ability because it keeps the theme tight, but I could see Conqueror as a high ability. Maybe Competitive and Defiant as Advanced ones? I also like Blur for flavor.

Oops, I always remember Charge increasing SpAtk. Having Pressurize increase SpDef or even Def would be much better.

I thought Blur was given to extremely fast pokemon, such as Ninjask, which the Blinx line doesn't give the impression of being. Wouldn't Heat Mirage be a better choice for a fire type?

This is a good thread, so let's necro the shit out of it, I say.

Here's a Mega Feraligatr I whipped up that, obviously, is Water/Ice. By "whipped up", I mean combined from these two already well-drawn Mega Feraligatrs. I liked them both, but aspects about each one's design either didn't feel "Mega" enough to me or was too... out there.

Regardless, what stats and ability do you think this thing would grant?

For this Water/Ice beast lets go bulky physical sweeper.
Atk +5, Def +4, SP.D +1

Since this pokemon doesn't have a host of ice moves, we can go for staying power.
Ability: Permafrost

According to my notes, it looks like we aren't too far off in terms of stats, although mine has ATK +4, DEF/SPDEF + 3... but the ability I have is Thrust, for some reason. I think the idea was to have it be able to bully opponents around the battlefield? That was dumb.
Why does yours have Permafrost? It's not a bad ability, to be sure, but it doesn't seem like it fits.

Visually it is covered with Ice.
Thematically it brings in the Ice typing.
Mechanically, The thing is bulky, this ability will force opponents not to just wait out its HP with status effects and hazards, but to instead actually attack it. Being primarily a melee attacker, ignoring Rough Skin and Iron Barbs is valuable.
