Creating Fakemon for games of PTU is a popular past time, from Elemental Knight's small horde of Fakemon, to other peoples idle creations. I wanted to continue that, I've made a few myself that get inserted now and then in games but I've found one area I really love which is being on Skype and getting ideas that I didn't think of before, whether it's using an ability that didn't cross my mind, or a couple of moves that'd be ideal. This has lead to the creation of this thread, and we will see how it goes to lead us to create another thread.
I'll put up a picture of a Fakemon I've found, and together we work out how it'd be statted up. We'd starting with Typing and Capabilities, and then move onto Abilities, Moves and so on.
By the end of next Wednesday, we will have a fully fleshed out Pokemon line that can be used for your PTU Game, and hopefully a couple of leads to introduce it into your game.

Let's start with the Blinx line;

The creator of this image is Skulldog on deviantart and he so far just has the name of the starting form, Blinx, and it's initial typing, which is obviously Fire. But that said, you might have other ideas.

So, Step One;

What would you name Blinx's evolutions?
What Types would you give them?
What Capabilities would they have?
And Why?

By Friday, we'll collect the responses and see what fits best, and then move on to Abilities. That said, if you have ideas, feel free to throw them in the post for the initial questions!

Let's see if this works out.

Alright, I toss a few ideas in.

Names
As for names for Blinx's evolutions, I would suggest Tiglint (tiger+flint, glint) for the second stage and Felflare (felidae/fell + flare) for the final.
<edit> Since I like fire/electric for the final stage's typing, Flaridae (flare + felidae, Faraday) would be a much more appropriate name.

Typing
Both Blinx and Tiglint look like pure Fire types to me, neither providing any real design elements that suggest an additional type. Felflare, however, has those bright blue patches of fur. I would like to suggest Fire/Electric, but I am not sure how to explain electrified patches of fur. It could explain it's blackened teeth; it uses its large, conductive fangs like an electric arc lighter. Bites would simultaneously electrocute and ignite prey.

No idea what to attribute the bell to.

Capabilities
The whole line would naturally have Firestarter. Tiglint and Felflare would gain Glow and maybe Heater as they have larger patches of blazing fur. If Felflare does become Fire/Electric, then maybe also give it Zapper as well.
Maybe give them Pack Mon if they form prides like lions do.

I can almost imagine them hunting in small prides on vast grasslands. They burn patches of grass so that they drive their prey to other members of the group. After a hunt they will return to extinguish the fires to prevent it from burning out of control as they need the long grass for camouflage.

That does seem like a fairly strong idea for what it could be, a little bit of flavour in there as well.
Does anyone else have any other ideas that might also work?

It looks like their fires are based on gas flames, so perhaps they could get a static buildup from containing the gas that fuels their fire in their mane, and the "bell" is more of a pressure valve? When it rings, that means that the final evo is about to use his reserves, acting as a warning for enemies to flee?

:D I appreciate the shout-out. ^_^

I'm not actually going to participate in the making of this fakemon, both to make sure I don't crowd anyone out, and because I actually have a lot of real-world stuff going on in my life at the moment. But I'm going to try to keep an eye on this thread, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what the community comes up with for this Fakemon!

As far as I'm concerned, the more Fakemon at peoples' disposal, the better - more options for GMs to surprise players with, and more things for players to feel excited to see for the first time.

...N_R, did you post that post here by mistake? I'm pretty sure we're still on figuring out stuff for this Pokemon.

If you want Nacho you can throw those at the end of this thread and we can go on to make that for future C-A-P's.

I think the popular vote is a Fire - Fire - Fire/Electric Line.

With that in mind, what kind of Abilities would you give Blinx, Tiglint and Flaridae? Thinking through that, what kind of moves do you think it'd have. Not currently looking for a huge move list from everyone, but just the odd ability or move you think this line would have.

Rather than giving full electric typing to the final evolution, what comes to mind is giving it zapper from the start to play with the pilot light + spark gap idea. Giving it Firestarter and Zapper along with the fact Basic Ranged Attacks no longer has a level prerequisite could limit its damage potential early on, letting us give it only normal physical moves to make for a good early encounter or a starter with some early type coverage but no STAB.

As its signature basic ability I think Empower, from the list of new abilities in the playtest, could work very well for the theme, especially if most of its moves are self-boosting status moves. Perhaps its first few moves should be Howl and a Special Attack Equivalent (that would have to be made up because there is none :( ) and it would sort of work like a passive boost to its default combat stages that also takes up a move slot. The level it evolves to Tiglint it could acquire either Work Up for a mixed attacker idea or Nasty Plot moving onto possibly Tail Glow at Flaridae levels.

Then again it could also be an excuse to create a couple self-boosting fire-type status moves, for Type Aces to work with.

It could also be Electric/Fire from the very beginning, using the golden beads on the tip of its ears as a sparkgap.

A self-boosting fire status move could be called Pressurize (since we are going along with the butane torch theme) that acts much like Charge: it increases SpAtk by 1 combat stage and adds the damage die again for a fire attack on the following turn.

As for abilities, Strong Jaw would be very appropriate for those fangs. If they were to become a mixed attacker then Twisted Power would do it good. Conqueror can let it build some momentum as it defeats opponents.
