this buffs various non-damaging moves pokemon tend to be given. From the CS buffing moves like Agility to things like Sleep Powder. Interesting.

I'm sorry, I just love how Alola Sandshrew looks like a little igloo now. |

So now we have mega rings for mega evolutions, z-rings for z-moves, as well as (at least once) wonder launchers for mega-items. Just how many peripherals do our characters have to wear? Because I can just imagine the strongest trainer just being buried in equipment to empower their Pokemon. |

Two new Alolan formes were revealed in CoroCoro: Meowth and Marowak (is it just me, or are all Alolan formes going to be Gen 1 pokemon?). Alolan Meowth is pure Dark while Alolan Marowak is Fire/Ghost. Meowth looks largely the same, save for its fur is a faded blue colour. Alolan Marowak, on the otherhand, looks awesome. Its body is now black, there is a black, 5-pointed star on its skull, and the bone it is carrying has blue fire engulfing both ends. New pokemon that were revealed included a Normal/Fighting pre-evolution for Bewear, two sand castle pokemon that will be Ground/Ghost, and a Water small fish pokemon that has two formes call Solo and Swarm (Swarm forme is a school of fish gathered together to look like a large, fierce fish). In addition to the new Gen 7 pokemon and the new Alolan formes, the region's villainous team is revealed. The group is called Team Skull and their outfits have decals of skulls and crossbones. With their decals and the fact that the Alola region consists of a group of islands, it is not all that far-fetched to come to the conclusion that they may be a group of pirates. Honestly given their darker motif I think the team may actually be based around Voodoo instead. Given that we already had a pirate team in the form of Team Aqua, I can see them moving to something different. |

Now a voodoo villain team would be awesome, just not sure what their motive would be. Would they try to use the ghosts of the dead to accumulate power? If this is the case, would an Alolan Marowak be one the leader's pokemon. Alternatively, they could very much attempt to overthrow the various traditions that the Alolan islands hold in high regard; such as the festivals dedicated to the guardian deities. Thinking back, the second iteration of Team Plasma is based on modern pirates in addition to Aqua's pirate theme. <Edit> Looking at the new trailer, Team Skull looks to be largely to be a group of gangsters. With this in mind, the idea of the team trying to get rid of the 'outdated' island traditions is still a strong theme in my mind. Edited by Nacho_Rocket, Aug 11 2016, 08:30 AM.

Unfortunately it turned out that they're gangbangers. Which will make beating them to a pulp very satisfying at least. |

I played through it earlier, it's just a little sample, about thirty minutes if you look around, but I think it did a good job getting me excited. You start off getting the Greninja in the mail, then you meet up with Hau, get into a fight with a Team Skull grunt, whom you defeat in one hit, go through a trial, and then finish off with a battle with Plumeria and a demonstration of Pikachu's Z move. By itself it's pretty tutorial-y but it definitely makes me want to see all the stuff in the actual game. |
