Ok, new trailer on Youtube showing six new Pokemon (two of them previously seen in a CoroCoro leak).

First up is Wimpod; it is a Water/Bug trilobite-isopod that is very quick to flee a battle. It has only one known ability: Wimp Out. Wimp Out causes the Pokemon to flee or swap out when it at less than half health. They also clean up the sea of any food or garbage that they find.

Bounsweet is a Grass type berry/chestnut Pokemon. It looks pretty much like a cross between a Cherubi and Whimsicott with the abilities Leaf Guard and Oblivious. It's body emits a strong, sweet smell that regularly attracts other Pokemon that want to eat it. It flees these Pokemon by hopping. But the manner in which it skips along always gives the impression that it is not panicking. It spins the leaves on top of it body to scare away predators, while making itself extremely dizzy in the process.

Comfey is pretty much a Floette and Klefki fusion. It is pure Fairy and it has a string of flowers coming out of its head to form either a daisy chain or flower boa. It has the abilities Flower Veil and Triage. Triage causes any HP restoring moves that the Pokemon uses to the highest priority.

Mudsdale is actually cool looking. It is a tough Ground type horse with the abilities Own Tempo and Stamina. Stamina causes the Pokemon's Defense to increase a combat stage when hit by an attack. Its snout, mane, tail, and legs are stained with red clay that weighs it down. Despite being quite slow, it is strong enough to pull 10 ton loads for several days without tiring. Let's not also forget that this horse has its tail and mane in dreadlocks.

Bewear is the Normal/Fighting bear in CoroCoro. It is powerful without a sense of how strong it is, regularly causing it break whatever it touches. It has Klutz and Fluffy for its abilities. Fluffy causes all contact moves to deal half damage, but causes Fire type moves to deal double damage.

The last revealed Pokemon is Mimikyu. As before: Ghost/Fairy that hides under a Pikachu disguise. Its only ability is Disguise. Disguise causes the first damaging move to hit Mimikyu to deal no damage. After the first hit Mimikyu's Decoy will fall over and be busted for the rest of the battle. Pretty useful to help set up a Substitute.

The world has passed into the Age of Retrovirus.

May Arceus have mercy on the eugenicists whose livelihoods will come to an end.

Haven't the eugenicists been having this problem in increasing increments every generation release?

A quick speculation for everyone: how many Pokemon do you think will be introduced in Alola?
My guess is about 75.

Alola Forms...That is all.

I mean there's tons of other cool stuff but I'm still trying to process what I saw first.

There was so much revealed in that trailer that I think I am going to need a few days to fully process all of it.

The point I am most interested in are the Z-moves. Something that a trainer would be able to perform once per battle, they perform a small dance that causes their pokemon to release an incredibly powerful move based on their type (most likely their primary typing). I don't know if the amount of damage will be determined by the pokemon's stats, but I hope it doesn't. I say this because that means that even weaker pokemon would be able to deal a ton of damage alongside the heavy hitters.

Also island totem battles look like something that would be fun as well.

The type is based on the base move's type. To use a Z-move you need:

Z-ring
Z-crystal of the corresponding type
The pokemon with the crystal to know a move of that type.

So what you are saying is that Z-moves are effectively an attack equivalent of Mega Evolution?

Then you can have one team member Mega evolve and another being your Z-attacker. Peoples' teams are going to be quite varied.

Pretty much. It fits too considering the professors.

XY's professor was studying mega evolution
SM professor is studying attacks

And they are basically mega moves considering the fluff too.

"A new element has been introduced into the Pokémon battles in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon: Z-Moves. Z-Moves are moves of great power that can only be used once per battle. When the Trainer and Pokémon’s wishes resonate with each other, and both release their full power together—the result is the explosive force of a Z-Move! All Pokémon can use Z-Moves to perform mightily in battle!"

"The Z-Ring fits on a Trainer’s arm, and Z-Crystals are set into it. If a Pokémon holds the same variety of Z-Crystal, the two will be able to resonate with one another. Crystals that correspond to each Pokémon type have been found in the Alola region."

"There are two conditions for performing Z-Moves: a Pokémon must learn a move of the same type as a Z-Crystal, and it must be holding the corresponding Z-Crystal.

When you see these moves in action in the game, each overwhelmingly powerful move will be on full display, filling the entire screen!"

A bracelet, an item, resonate, power by being connected and resonating, once per battle, etc.
