I'm hoping Grubbin has a branched evolution. Given the seriously different things in its pokedex entry on the site, there's an argument going around that it could end up as Bug/Ground, Bug/Electric and Bug/Flying as its final forms. |

Given gamefreak's history with branch evolution on early level bug types i wouldn't be all that surprised honestly. |

...you know, I was thinking the same, but actually looking into it, Wurmple and Burmy are the only bug pokémon with branched evolution. Compared to water, which has Poliwag, Slowpoke, and Clamperl. I do think Grubbin will probably be branched based on the information on the official site, but it would seem history is not as strong an indicator of that as one might think. Either that, or Sun/Moon is going to be the first game to have pokémon that have 3 types (excluding the temporary effects of Forest's Curse and Trick-or-Treat), but that's a long shot Edited by Kairose, Jun 18 2016, 10:04 PM.

Tri-Typedpokemon would shake things up a lot, But I don't see that happening. A branched evolution is more likely. I'm still curious about what types the starters will end up as I've heard Rowlett will end up as Gras/Ground, which if so is kind of unfortunate that it loses it's flying type. And Popplio is said by some to end up as a Water/Fighting. I don't know how accurate those are though. |

After seeing the new forms of Sungaleo and Lunala, being Radiant Sun and Full Moon respectively, I am almost certain that it will trigger a change in Typing and/or Abilities. The current Abilities seem to be more suitable, especially Shadow Shield, for the first few rounds of battle before triggering the form change. If Typing does change, I would believe that Radiant Sun Sungaleo becomes Fire/Steel and Full Moon Lunala becomes Dark/Ghost. Abilities that they would gain would change from defensive to more offensive capabilities. Just a small thought that came up when I realized the "new" abilities are just renamed versions of Clear Body and Multiscale. |

I doubt they will change types, But yeah the new abilities are just lazy renames for old ones. |

I made pretty much the exact same guess on the typing the other day to a friend of mine. Except I think I said either Dark or Fairy, since Fairy has such a strong connection to the moon |

I am guessing that Popplio's final evolution ends up being water/psychic, Rowlet flying/grass, Litten fire/dark. With that said, I am digging the dual packs coming out. I now get a reward for buying both versions. I will be sad if Rowlet loses it's flying type. Edited by Niria, Jun 22 2016, 07:57 PM.

I doubt these "forms" are anything more than fancy animations for Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam, same as Xerneas has... |

I don't recall Xerneas's Awakened Form being advertised like Sungaleo and Lunala. That was more so a story based change for when it awoke from its slumber. If anything, this is more like Rayquaza's ability to Mega Evolve using Dragon Ascent; with the use of their signature moves as a way to change form. I do doubt that there is going to be a type change, but I do think that the Abilities will change that would be more suited for going on the offensive rather than setting up. |
