Katei Town; The Forest Gateway

Katei Town, while every bit as modern as Tabi Port, doesn't look quite so incongruous in its design and seems to have been designed to be as well-occupied as it is; the centre of the town is occupied by an odd-looking building that looks a little like a doughnut, which is obviously the main attraction of the town as almost everything else seems to have been built up around it. A Pokemon Centre stands just by the entrance to the forest, which cuts off in a neat line as if someone's come along and measured it with a ruler.

When you arrive, it seems the rain has driven most people indoors, although there are a couple of young children and a Squirtle playing in one of the larger puddles.

Oscar stops as he enters the town and looks around. "I'm sure, in the sunshine, this would be a charming town." He says, his enthusiasm having been worn down by the drizzle. He looks to the Pokemon Centre. "Well, I don't think we need their main services, but we can at least ask about the town." He says, walking to the invitingly dry building.

Considering what the gym in Anistar looks like, Isabella's in no position to cast aspersions about odd buildings. At the moment, though, that's not where her focus is; she's not exactly happy about the weather, either. Her curly ponytail is plastered to the back of her neck - it may not be raining hard, but they've been out long enough for her to be unfortunately wet. Even the cute kids playing in the puddles don't lift her spirits much.

"Good idea. See if we can find out whether anything's going on around here."

Sibyl's first thoughts about the odd building were - well, its certainly unique, but an interesting change. She's really keen to go check it out, but doesn't mind too much to go to the Centre first instead.

"Yeah sure, good to get to know some people first either way." At this point, anywhere dry would be welcome.

Jeremy's mind, much like Isabella's, had occasionally drifted to the local gym and what might lie in store, although in that moment he realised he wasn't even certain which towns in the region had gyms. "Probably shoulda paid more attention to the speech" He thought "Or picked up a brochure.".

He snapped back to reality as the trees fell away and Oscar brought attention to their arrival. In that moment he almost didn't notice the odd building, too preoccupied with hurrying to Pokémon Centre and almost bowling over Oscar in the process.

The Pokemon Centre looks much like the one in Tabi Port, though with less occupants. In this case, other than the nurse and her Chansey, the only occupant is a familiar figure, standing by the door and rather ineffectually trying to wring out his (rather muddy) jacket. "Oh, hi again!" Professor Willow's assistant peers up at the clouds and gets a faceful of rain for the trouble. "Blah! Looks like you guys found each other anyway. Sorry about the weather. Maybe we should've scheduled this whole thing for a time where it wasn't going to be raining for a few weeks. Oh! How is your journey going? I never really got to see all you guys since you left Tabi Port."

Apparently his neverending talkativeness wasn't just a consequence of the excitement of the journey beginning.

"Right now? Wet. Our journey is going wet." Isabella pushes her hair out of her eyes with a sigh. "Apart from that it's been... okay so far. Interesting. Do you know who 'Team Aegis' is?" She pauses for a moment as she tries to work out whether that 'is' should've been an 'are'.

"We ran into them on the road. Armored hoodies, funky lights on their faces, voice changers. Tried to intimidate us with conspiracy theories or something, talk us into going home. Mr. Reiner said the MO sounded right but he couldn't figure out a motive." She's rather proud of this rephrasing... she really does read too many detective novels.

Sibyl sighs audibly: this man was funny at first, but its getting a little tiring now. "Yeah... Interesting is one way of putting it."

She shrugs after Isabella provides her "status report" regarding Team Aegis. "Maybe they might have a beef with your grand adventures in Honi? Who knows why though...", offering a suggestion that happened to occur to her.

Jeremy gives the talkative man a courtesy nod of acknowledgement, but otherwise chooses rest over responding; at least until Isabella and Sybil begin giving a full mission briefing. He can't help but laugh quietly at Isabella's noir-style rundown of their run-in with Team Aegis; and her inclusion of Mr. Reiner, whoever that was. He realises he'll have to ask them exactly what happened while he stayed at camp. Then something occurs to him.

"Wait! Did you say it was gonna rain for weeks?!" He slumps down into a nearby chair. This weather was doing more to dampen his spirits than Team Aegis ever could.

Oscar pauses in shaking some of the water out of his coat. "You know," he mutters, "I had imagined the life of a professional trainer to be a touch more glamorous."

He shakes his head and joins the discussion. "Well, at least these Aegis people will probably be getting similarly wet. Doubt they'll bother us here, anyway. Speaking of which, what is there to do in this town." He looks out of the window. "Preferably indoor activities."
