PMD Sourcebook Revision v1.12 V1.1 here V1.11 here Awhile back I took over TheBlackGlove's PMD sourcebook to update it to 1.05. It became a pet project of mine but I often found myself frustrated with it and its various problems, to the point where I decided to abandon the project and try working on something more from the ground up. While I still wanted to use PTU as a base due to already having a codified pokedex, feature system, skills, and so forth, I started exploring other ways to address problems of the previous incarnations. To that end, I've made this revised version. While it is still a PTU hack, there's a lot of custom mechanics in here to (hopefully) better accommodate a game in which PCs are pokemon. A lot of this is experimental and may not work, so I'm eagerly looking for feedback on what works, what doesn't, and what needs to be gutted and remade. I also want to give a shoutout to TheKamenWriter, DrStraightLord, Hyperax, and Truebutler for helping me with conversions (and anyone else I missed, seriously, if you helped give me a message so I can add you!) and TheBlackGlove for making the original system. Converted Moves Converted Abilities Yes I know I need to put these in order still. What's Changed? Things in particular I'm looking for feedback on Changelog

In a battle. Each time you faint per day the DC to revive you goes up by 5 and the time it takes to wake up on your own increases. |

A small update: I've started working on a wikidot sheet template for the homebrew, which you can see here http://paradoxhaze.wikidot.com/pmd-revision-v1-1-sheet-template You'll need a wikidot account to use it. If you don't have access to the paradoxhaze wikidot, you can use the PTU PMD Sheet Respository. The password is located within the sourcebook document. |

This may be a stupid question, but how many Added Skill Ranks does one start with? I know you can only add 3 to begin with, but is that all that you get at Level 1? |

Why are the ranges so fixed? I'm looking at the list of pokemon on bulbapedia and have noticed that many pokemon are hamstrung because of Gamefreak not using numbers divisible by 10 for base stats. Poor Bronzor (among others) gets hit really hard with 89/89 def/s.def and 57 hp: Bronzor Base Stats And it gets no benefits in the form of (s)attack or speed. I have more reservations about the current stat system encouraging rocket tag, but I'll save that for play testing to confirm/deny my concerns. |
