I'm gonna be playing in a Game using the PMD Subset of rules. We're starting pokemon Level 11 and Career Level 5. I'm playing an Eevee that will eventually become a Sylveon. I want to him to have the Provocateur and Musician clas, though I'm will to drop musician for anything that synergizes and fits his character more. He's playful, flirty, and charming. I plan on him being both a Debuff character and Special attacker. |

A great way to fluff and run the character (if you don't have something in mind already) is as a Bard in a more typical tabletop RPG. Socially, you wander around, singing, telling stories, and convincing people to let the party know and do things they probably shouldn't agree to, and when a fight starts, you pass out buffs and debuffs like its Halloween, then harass people and take bites out of them whenever the opportunity arises. The Bard isn't the best fighter, but he does make things happen, both in and out of battle. As a concept, the combo works beautifully, and mechanically, the combo works well enough. Rouge or Tumbler could fit the concept at least as well, with Rouge fitting in more if you like harassing people, or Tumbler if you like the idea of taunting people then running away for a few turns while they waste attacks, but I do see more mechanical synergy with a Provocateur/Musician. Maybe pick up one of the other two later? Thematically, the Trickster class could work, but I can't see that actually helping much in a PMD based game. Crunch-Wise, the Roughneck is a stellar debuffer, but doesn't really fit the character theme very well, though the thought of a cigar-smoking, eye-patched Sylveon that can glare down a Tyranitar sounds hilariously awesome. Perhaps a bit more out there, the Warper class is the ultimate weapon of any prankster, plus teleportation is always useful, though this would be a bit harder to work into the character concept. Hopefully this helps you make a decision and get those creative juices flowing! |
