As a note, Munchlax isn't a pre-order thing, it's a "if you buy the game after release but before this date, you can download a new friend with a shiny thing." Specifically the download period would last until the 11th of January.
Okay, missed that. Good to know that you get a good few months between the release and the eligibility dates.

Pokemon Snap is now a feature in Sun & Moon! Let the choir bells ring!
The fact that you will be able to go around and take pictures to get them rated will make a lot of people happy.

I have no idea what an Ultra Beast is, but UB-01 looks like it came from another dimension. Maybe it is a product of the Aether Foundation's secret research that brought through a portal from a world that doesn't have pokemon.

Also the first thing that the trailer showed, Type:Null, looks like an amalgamation of several creatures have been fused together.

Finally, I think that Alolan Raticate has been going a bit too heavy on the Pokepuffs.

Edit: do the people that give you the Zygarde Cube look suspiciously like Dexio and Sina from X & Y. Turns out they are actually Dexio and Sina.

Also in the Japanese trailer does show UB-01 appearing through what looks like a portal and the Aether Foundation is researching the Ultra Beasts. Its body is also is made of a glass-like substance and movements are similar to a young girl's.

I saw a theory floating around that Type: Null isn't the real name of the pokémon, because the spanish name is "Código Cero", and spanish names are apparently always the same as the english ones.

"Code Zero" isn't exactly that far off from "Type: Null". Granted, neither of those exactly strikes me as a real name - whoever made it was clearly more interested in making a Pokémon than even paying enough attention to give the species an actual name. It's a designation, rather like UB-01, in fact.

(For the record, since we haven't seen any sort of scientific inclination in Team Skull as of yet, my money's on the Aether Foundation having actually made the thing, possibly as a byproduct of research into the UBs. My pet theory is that Aether is really the money behind Team Skull, but it's equally possible that the Skulls just stole it.)

Though Type: Null does rather make me suspect that we'll run across others, possibly with names like either Type: Fire, Type: Water or Type: One, Type: Two. (The website certainly implies that there are other Ultra Beasts around, at least, even aside from UB-01's designation.)

The Aether Foundation is definitely going to be pulling some strings behind the scene. The fact that they called their group after the alchemical quintessence draws some connections with the fact that they seem to be studying beings from out of their world. Not to mention that they effectively have their own grunts, like Team Skull, in the form of their employees.

UB-01 is definitely a kind of creature that is not from the pokemon world. Its description on the pokemon website describes it saying that it is unknown if it even has any form of conscience, only some form of survival instinct. This joined with its shifting form may explain its appearance; by imitating the appearance and behavior of a girl (most likely Lillie), it is trying to blend in with people just to avoid drawing attention.

However, by looking like a human is really drawing peoples' attention trying to figure out just what it is.

Now, this is just speculation, but could Type: Null be a riff on the infamous glitch Pokemon? The mixed-up look it has to it makes me think this; it's like an image sprite that didn't load properly. The name also reminds me of some of the glitches (MissingNo, Bad Egg, etc.). Type: Null and MissingNo even could mean similar things; an unfilled data slot.

Has anyone seen the new CoroCoro leaks? Because we now have 2 more Ultra Beasts: UB-02 Beauty, and UB-02 Expansion.

UB-02 Beauty (or as I will refer to as 02B) is a slender, regal looking, bug-like humanoid that shares lots of similarities to Aether Foundation's president, Lusamine. UB-02 Expansion (02E) is a beefy monster mosquito with large spheres filled with a red substance.

My theory regarding the UBs is that they are beings from alternate dimensions and are being brought to the world by the Aether Foundation using the Link Cable technology that was developed by Devon Corporation. The UBs are thought to potentially pose a threat to Pokemon and Humans, and I definitely think that both UB-02s are going to be dangerous. 02B is able to infatuate any Pokemon regardless of gender. Now I don't know if it can charm humans, but I wouldn't put it past it. We don't know what 02E is capable of, but its name and appearance very much give the impression that it is a conqueror by means of brute force. Lusamine may be influenced by 02B and is even imitating its appearance. Both UB-02s give the impression that they are coming to the Pokemon world to dominate it and expand their territories.
