So, I'm loving the Game of Throhs book, and the elementalist classes in general, but Miasmic comes off a little odd to me. Why does it raise Defense rather than Special Attack, or even Special Defense? The Guile/Stealth requirements make it seem more like a sneaky/roguish character lending towards Special Attack, especially considering the moves it receives are all Special moves. If it were following the average stats of poison types, it would be Attack, but obviously it's not leaning in that direction with how it's built. I get the impression it's meant to sort of survive until the enemies get poisoned, but the Defense stat seems off for a poison themed class. The second highest stat for Poison types is Special Defense, which also lends itself to the goal of survival, and matches the theme a little better. I am probably missing some things, but it just feels odd to me. Does anyone have any input to defend it? I'd like to hear some contrary opinions because I do like the class, it just doesn't sit right with my impression of poison(which could easily be my whole issue; too set in my ways). I'm not sure if this is has anything to do with it, but historically, Poison is considered one of the best defensive types in the Pokemon meta. ![]() More on-point, I guess it's to represent the Miasmic's body being not quite physically normal compared to other Elementalists, if Flexible Form is anything to go by.
