Fantastic Pokemon and Where to Find Them; PTU Adventure Hooks every Weekday

Greetings! My name is Professor Scamander, a renowned Pokemon Researcher who studies the effects of Pokemon on Role Playing Games. While Professor Oak has been working on to i-Dex 9+ (trademarked by Silph Co.), I’ve been working on a Pokedex of my own, one that explores different Pokemon within the realm of Pokemon Tabletop United.

Fantastic Pokemon and Where to Find Them is that Pokedex. Every weekday, I’ll be posting an entry focusing on one of the 721 currently known species of Pokemon. In addition to some of my own thoughts and musings about the Pokemon, I’ll also note its mechanical potential for GMs and Players alike. Most importantly, I’ll provide three adventure hooks to show how the Pokemon can be worked into a game. These hooks will be setting neutral, and should be able to be worked into a variety of different games.

Of Course, this Pokedex wouldn’t be possible without the inspirational Daily Pocket Monster to serve as a basis for my work. I plan to pick up the alphabet where Old Greg left off, meaning my first post will be the headstrong Bouffalant! If you’d like to see a Pokemon featured that won’t come along alphabetically for a while, just ask! If a Pokemon comes along that the Daily Pocket Monster already has done, I’ll do my own version of it! This Encyclopedia won’t be complete without all 721 included, so it’ll happen sooner or later.

This project is as much a way for me to destress and as a writing exercise as anything else - the day to day life of a Professor doesn’t give me many opportunities to write anything other than boring research papers. If you have any feedback, constructive criticism, words of encouragement, or pester balls to throw, you've found the right place.

Literature Project:
Throughout the blog, I've sprinkled references to seven influential works of literature written before the year 1900 as part of an effort to justify my English major. See if you can find them all! A spoilered list of those that have been found so far are below!

Thanks! I'm really pumped for to get started. I've been mulling it over for a while now, and I'm glad I decided to start.

Sure! I'm going to stick to the alphabet for the first week just to get into the rhythm(hoping for 1/day) and then I'll start picking up requests next week. Were you interested in any of them in particular or the whole line?

I love this style of blog, and I'm glad to see someone pick up Old Greg's banner. I've already bookmarked the site. ^_^

Glad people are enjoying it! It's kind of a daunting list when you look at the whole thing, but I'm pretty excited to work my way through the whole list.

Out of curiosity, does this fit better into Homebrew or PTU? I never really put much thought into that when I made the thread.

Breloom is up tomorrow! Looking over the list, it seems like there will be a lot of grass types in this part of the alphabet, so I'll have to grow a couple good plot hooks for them. Yes, I know the pun was bad, but I made it anyway.

Probably Magmar mostly :)
Magmar used to be one of those pokémon i didn't care about back in the day but has grown a lot on me during recent years :)

Thanks for the support! Full disclosure here, but I will be switching to 5/week starting on Monday, so it'd be 1/weekday. A couple of days of rest per week will do me good I think.
