Hello there everyone. I'm currently working on a small project involving Combat Demo style maps as found in the PTU pdf. These combat demo maps would be created in a google spreadsheet with square(ish) cells being filled in with color backgrounds. If anyone in the community has the skills to create interesting maps with basically just color tiles, then please let me know here or in the skype chat. I would add you to the skype group and explain all of the more in depth details there if needed. There I would link you to the current spreadsheet we are creating these on The goal: To assemble a large group of simplistic style maps similar to the Combat Demo map on page 256 of the PTU pdf for possible use by members of the community. Current helpers: StarmanTheta Zephias I'll take as many map creators as possible! Even if you just come and make different versions of any maps that anyone else creates, it still helps in providing variety! Edit: Here's a very small demo of how simple the maps can be (since i lack map making creativity).... BUT they CAN be more complex! So come join us~ Note: That link is not the link to the editable spreadsheet that is being worked on.... its just a viewable copy of the first three maps i very quickly made whilst half sleepy. Edit 2: Zephias fixed up 2) water gym to make it look much neater. It now sports rocks in dark brown for pokemon to jump on, some shallow water for non-swimmers to wade through and a bit of sandy area as well. It's great stuff! Come join us and help us make some good maps for the community!

These all look great. Where did you get the images for the trees/rocks/seashells? It would be helpful to have an explanation for each color besides the map. It took some time to realize what the brown on the water gym was. I think I could try my hand at this. I'll PM you my Skype. |

Thanks. I googled the sprites. And for the explanation... I want to leave that a bit vague on purpose. Some GMs might decide that the dark brown is solid dirt, whereas others could decide that its mud and assign it a movement penalty, etc.. I've added you on skype. Once there I'll give you the appropriate link and you can start creating anything you want. Feel free to look any of the other maps for inspiration... or even duplicate some of the previous maps and move things around to make alternate versions. It's good to have many versions that way multiple battles in a specific location don't get stale. |
