In the midst of battle, her eyes widen as the pokemon attempts to heal itself. That's so...unique! She pays close attention, trying to figure out /how/. She glances over at Totodile, checking on him as she pulls a second ball out of her pocket. His irritated hissing worries her for a moment as the pokemon kicks the ground, sitting down and pouting. She turns back to the striped dog again. Sticking her tongue out, she narrows her eyes and throws another ball, only noting after she's tossed it, in the heat of battle, that the dog seems to have stepped back a little. Still, these balls are a wonder of technology, and no better way to see how they work than to just use one... Pity that doesn't seem likely, as yet another ball flies past the pokemon. Combat

"Whoa, mellow out fish... no need to go ape on stinko over there." Cecil took to a knee beside it. "You did me a solid, I got you. Joe, tell your skag to piss off! We're good over here!" Burned hand still shaking, Cecil put away his knife while stooping, and withdrew his canteen. Fumbling with the container for a few seconds, he managed to get the cap off, splashing the still cool water over his blistering hand, letting it run off and onto the Barboach. "There, it's a twofer. I can't spare much more then that, sorry bud." Another splash and he capped his canteen, hooking it onto his belt. "Didn't do that much for me, but I hope it helps, wherever you're headed. Pretty badass that you're even out of water in the open sun like this." Charm: 7 Edited by Robot, Nov 18 2015, 05:03 PM.

Thought you were going to sneak up on me did you? Bunnie watches and waits as she sees the orange dog try to get away from everyone else. As Amber throws a Pokeball and misses, she decides to try and catch it herself. If what Shulk said was right and this thing would listen to us afterwards, having all three of these dogs seems like a good way to get on protecting ourselves quickly. "Doug, use the Peck attack again." Doug charges in with his horn set forward, ready to drill into the orange dog. Doug's Rolls After Doug's attack Bunnie gets her Pokeball out and throws it as hard as she can. Pokeball GO! The Map Edited by DavidHilm, Nov 18 2015, 05:29 PM.

"Okay, Bones, it looks like it's leaving," Christine calls. "If it does, you don't need to chase it." She goes over to the Fletchling "Are you hurt?" OOC Map |

Joe's all too brief moment of triumph as he actually managed to hit the dog soured immediately as he realized he'd attracted its ire. What had he been thinking? "Aheh... aheh..." His breath came out in ragged wheezing almost-laughs as his face drained of blood, his skin clammy. This was it - he was about to get mauled to death, not even an hour after leaving the Vault. But the dog apparently didn't like getting ganged up on any more than Joe did, and the janitor almost collapsed in relief when it tried to escape. Whirling to make sure nothing else was sneaking up on him, he - Smacked the skunk right in the face. "Grimer, get over here and protect me!" he practically screamed, stumbling backwards in terror. Perking up and apparently forgetting about the eel completely, the poisonous Pokemon roiled dutifully in Joe's direction, almost flowing over the orange-striped dog before it noticed something was blocking its path. With a gurgling hiss it released a fine purple mist at the offending obstacle. Combat

The offering of water and the calming words, coupled with the Grimer moving way, all seem to calm the strange fish, which gives a pleased gurgle as the water soaks into its slightly slimy skin. It curls up a bit next to Cecil, watching the remaining combat with interest. (Barboach is out of the initiative) Joe's panicked flailing strikes the Stunky straight on the snout, making it give out a pained hiss. Its eyes gleam as it glares at Joe, readying its claws as it stalks after the fleeing janitor, before snarling in confusion as first Amber then Bones take jabs at it as it passes. Bones' strike actually seems to wound it, and it lets out a screech of fury, leaping at the Happiny and scratching at him furiously. But the little rotund mon''s skin easily resists the blunted claws. Stunky takes damage from two AoOs, and is injured. The Fletchling, satisfied that the threat has been driven away, begins to fussily preen Cathrine's hair. (Fetchling has left the initiative) The tiger-dog lets out a yap of disapproval at Bone's actions from earlier, opening his mouth wide, and sending a blistering spark of flame spiraling at the little egg. It is much more powerful than the Houndour's had been. 34 special Fire damage on Bones. Doug finally arrives, tearing at the cream and orange fur with teeth and horn, just before his mistresses pokeball slams into the beast. The capsule is scored by a wave of sludge as Grimer gets there, but remains intact as it wriggles and bounces fiercely over the grass... finally coming to rest with a soft "ping". Bones, denied his initial target, instead takes his frustrations out on the Stunky, slapping the mustelid silly. Initiative MAP Edited by Lockdown, Nov 19 2015, 04:31 PM.

Regaining what little composure he had as other Pokemon intercepted the skunk, Joe took note of how effective the Pokeballs had been at removing threats so far and desperately flung one of his own - perhaps a little too hard. With the dog out of its way, the Grimer simply continued obliviously moving in a straight line until it ran into something else... literally. Combat

The pokeball wobbles and bobbles, before locking with a soft ping. Leaving only the Fletchling and the rather friendly fish out. The Fletchling is still studiously grooming Christine's hair. (END COMBAT) XP Edited by Lockdown, Nov 19 2015, 06:33 PM.

Having a seat next to the Barboach, Cecil made eye contact with it briefly, before looking at each of the others. Skrub's words echoed in his head that he could be great if he really tried. Here he was, outside, being set on fire by dogs, and making friends with fish. He was the only one among the humans that had even been reasonably hurt. The greaser called that a bit of a win. The burn sucked, but Cecil wasn't going to whine to Christine about it. She'd already been pretty clear she didn't care for his stupid decisions. Getting set on fire was probably one of the worst ideas he'd had to date. Bunnie was alright, that was what mattered. "I'm still a sucker for that pretty face." He thought with a shake of his head and a smile. Turning his wrist-mounted analyzer on the fish, he listened as it chimed and explained what it's purpose was. "Barboach, the Whiskers Pokemon. Water/Ground type. Developed initially as a filter fish to assist cleaning fish farms of excess waste, its hardy composition and unprecedented ability to crawl overland allowed it to escape into the wild and begin breeding. It is passive in nature, attacking only when threatened or agitated, coating its entire body with a slimy fluid so it can squirm and slip away if grabbed." "Huh..." Cecil gave the barboach an experimental stroke with a finger, finding it's muscular body was almost rubbery beneath the coat of whatever it secreted. Rubbing it between his fingers, he found it smelled strongly of the fish itself. "Whoa bud...you're something else." He jerked his hand away from his nose as he processed the new smell. "Alright, you saved my good jacket from getting ruined, not to mention my face. I ain't letting you get eaten by fire spitting dogs, get in the ball." Charm: 7 Edited by Robot, Nov 19 2015, 07:11 PM.

Looking around, the fighting seemed to be over. That was good. "Is anyone hurt?" Christine asked. "If so, I've got some things in my pack that I should be able to throw together to help." She giggled, feeling the bird in her hair. "Hehe, that tickles." She thought about the others, in how they captured new companions in those capsules, and pulled one out. She wanted to take the bird along, it seemed like a nice companion, but it didn't seem right just whipping a sphere at it. She tried looking up at it, before remembering that it was on her head. "Hey, little guy," she said, "How would you feel about coming along with us?" She didn't know if it could even understand her or not, but it seemed reasonably intelligent, but she waited to see the reaction of it or her traveling companions. OOC
