The path through the - admittedly quite light - forest is either extremely well-maintained or extremely new. In places, there are what appear to be Pokemon trails that have forged paths into the forested area. A few Pokemon call in the distance, though none are immediately visible. OOC

Sibyl listens in on the conversation and chips in right after in a somewhat dejected tone, "Yeah, we MAY have appeared a little overeager in our chase. I think the 'big guy' is a little less inclined to arrest us now, which is always a good sign. Someone else gave him a talking to, but I doubt we're completely off the hook given our... enthusiasm." Truth be told, her own 'enthusiasm' is fading a little: given the interruption, the poachers should have a comfortable lead, unless they could help the Rangers somehow, if they weren't persona non grata by now. |

Jeremy chuckled. "Damn, Iz. I've only known you a day and already I can tell that mouth of yours is gonna get us into big trouble someday." he tried his best to make that sound more light hearted than mean. "I don't suppose those rangers fancy helpin' their fellow man by giving us and our luggage a lift to the next town?" |

Oscar thinks for a moment. "I shouldn't have thought so, but, if we can convince some of these rangers to help with the injured Luxray... and that's by no means a certainty, but if we can, it shouldn't be too much of a detour for one or two of us to come and give you a hand." He surmises, tactically neglecting to mention that it was his impatience to get on the poachers' trail that caused this particular issue. |

Well, it's not as if they don't all know that Oscar was leading the way on the chase. Or as if Isabella wasn't just as eager to catch the poachers, even if she hadn't been so eager for another hike. But the blame game can wait, not that she really thinks anybody can be blamed for wanting to catch them. Besides, she's just remembered something. "Oh, zut. I don't think our tagalong is going to help our case." The Shinx might look suspicious even if he's clearly following them willingly. |

As you conclude your conversation with Jeremy, a faint purr draws your attention back to the younger Ranger, who is crouched petting the Shinx, who has wandered forwards and is rubbing itself against his leg. He glances up to you, still absently playing with the cub. "My apologies for the sergeant's, ah...enthusiasm. Jonas Reiner," he introduces himself. "I take it you three took it upon yourselves to try to track down the poachers that came after this little one's siblings?" |

"Quite." Oscar answers. "After we were led to the poor thing's mother by Enteiiiirely by chance, it would seem," Oscar's voice only rises a little at his swerve to avoid mention of the legendary beast, "we lended what little aid we could and started pursuing them, hoping to catch and defeat the blackguards." His voice seems to carry no particular self-awareness, either of the chances of them defeating experienced poachers or of the fact he had just used the word "blackguards" in a serious context. |

Isabella does a remarkably good job of keeping a straight face as Oscar just barely avoids letting Entei's name slip. "'Blackguards' isn't quite the word I'd have gone with, but yeah. Our little friend here insisted on coming along. I think he wants to help rescue his siblings himself." Belatedly, she realizes she's the only one who hasn't introduced herself or shown her ID. She calls it up on her Pokédex quickly. "Isabella Celandine. Future champion of the Honi region," she adds, with a smug grin thrown Oscar's way. Yes, she's going to be contesting his claim the entire trip, if she has anything to say about it. |

Sibyl doesn't do as well of a job of ignoring Oscar's near slip-up, giving him a quick aside glance in amusement. She responds to Jonas, "No worries, our apologies too for the misunderstanding." She looks over at Isabella's small dispute of the title of champion. "Little wonder we ended up in that mess, isn't it," she says dryly, conveniently forgetting that she was equally at fault in that situation. |

"Well, you're about a week too late to be tracking the 'blackguards,' fortunately for you. And I don't think you're quite right there," Reiner replies to Isabella. Either he doesn't notice Oscar's avoidance of mentioning Entei or he doesn't care. "You obviously made quite an impression on this little one's mother. Go on." This last part is directed down at the Shinx, who pads back over to the group and sits down by Oscar's feet with a little meow. |

Oscar smiles down at the cub, before frowning slightly. "I suppose I shouldn't be surprised we were too late. Still..." he leaves the sentence hanging, his displeasure at having missed them clear. He shakes his head. "Anyway, is there anything in particular you need from us?" He asks as he begins repacking his backpack, having not considered the need to when emptying it. "If not, I wonder if we might ask a few of your fine fellows to accompany us back to where we found her? I'd imagine you'd be more capable than us of tending to her wounds." |
