The path through the - admittedly quite light - forest is either extremely well-maintained or extremely new. In places, there are what appear to be Pokemon trails that have forged paths into the forested area. A few Pokemon call in the distance, though none are immediately visible. OOC

Whether Isabella was expecting a response to her muttered profanity, she gets one; a soft, gentle growl reverberates through the undergrowth - easily audible to the others back at camp. And in the growl, in some inexplicable but undeniable manner, words, spoken in a deep, masculine tone. "I will not hurt you, little one."

Okay, okay, you can deal with this, Isabella. It's just a freaking Entei standing in the bushes talking to you. In all honesty, Isabella is not prepared for this. For all her boasts about a grand destiny and her general lack of humility, Isabella never really thought she'd meet a legendary Pokémon in person. Certain primitive instincts at the back of her mind that don't listen to little things like logic and reassurances are screaming at her to go find a tree to climb because there is a gigantic carnivore far too close to her, and the rest of her is pretty much completely awestruck by the massive presence. She swallows hard. She needs to, if not completely gather her composure, at least not stand there slack-jawed. "I'm sorry. I... wasn't expecting to run into something like you out here." She really hopes that didn't sound rude. She's still got the TM in a death grip, having completely forgotten she was even holding it. Some part of her distantly hopes that if the others investigate the growl, they don't get defensive right away. Even if her vague memories of that book suggest Entei is more likely to run off than just burn them all to cinders, neither option is all that great as far as cutting an encounter with a living legend short goes, and she doesn't really want to bank on it. Sibyl shakes her head slightly at being ignored: that's no fun at all. She continues watching the Pokemon. Suddenly though, she hears that growl roll through the campsite, and the hairs on the back on her neck stand on end. She knows right away that's no ordinary Pokemon, just by that sound. Which was confirmed with by words in that same growl. She stands up and edges slowly towards the undergrowth, calling out in a worried tone, "Iz... is everything alright there?", catching her first glimpse of the beast as she moves closer. As she comprehends the sight, she breathes in sharply, realising she was seeing a legend in the flesh. "Entei..." she whispers. "Just like from the Burned Tower back home..." She stands looking at the figure for a while longer, and asks, speaking carefully, "If I may... What is your purpose with us, all the way here?" |

Jeremy is just finishing packing up the last of his items when the growl rumbles through the camp. Though initially fearful, he notices Sibyl go to explore and figures he shouldn't let her go on her own. He looks over to the others and motions for them to come too. Despite his age and experiences, Jeremy is not prepared for what he sees. As soon as he lays eyes on the gigantic creature he freezes on the spot, mid-step, eyes wide and mouth agape. "Nobody move." He whispers slowly, oblivious to the fact that Sibyl and Isabella have already made contact. "Maybe if we don't move, he won't see us." |

Oscar shudders slightly at the growl, then shakes his head, ready to ignore it and return to packing up his tent before he sees everyone going to investigate. Not wanting to be left out, he follows, not even remotely anticipating what he'd find. "What's going oooeeerrrrrrrrrHI!" His sentence swerves into new directions as he stops upon seeing the gigantic legendary, his face rapidly shifting into a terrified rictus grin. "H-ho-h-how are you, Mr, er, mr... Hi?" He babbles, not having the faintest clue what to say, but unaccustomed to keeping silent. |

Entei makes a kind of barking sound that after a moment you realise is his equivalent of a chuckle - mostly directed at Jeremy and Oscar - and steps partway out of the undergrowth. Whether this makes the situation better or worse is another matter, of course. "My original purpose here is nothing you need to worry about. But some way away -" he indicates the direction with a nod of his head "- there are some Pokemon that have been...hunted." This last word comes out as a snarl. "You are the first humans I found since," he continues, letting the moment drag on just too long to be comfortable. "I watched you. You care about your Pokemon. So I would like your help, if you are willing to give it." OOC

The snarl makes Isabella drop an involuntary step back. When he chuckles, part of her could almost feel like she's talking to a big, friendly guy and not a legendary Pokémon who could easily reduce her to a smoking pair of stylish Mary Janes if he really wanted to, but that's definitely a predator's snarl, even if it isn't directed at her. But when a legendary Pokémon asks for your help, even phrasing it as a request, you don't say 'no thank you'. At least not in Isabella's book. She swallows hard to try and stop her voice from shaking, and nods slowly. "Of course," she answers, continuing her habit of volunteering the group for things. "What do you need us to do?" At least Isabella knows enough about legendary Pokémon not to question Entei's own lack of intervention. |

Sibyl looks aside at the two guys who'd just approached, pressing a finger to her lips in a 'shush' gesture. It was an understandable reaction, but not one they needed right now. She nods quietly at Entei's request, rooted to the spot. She likewise voices agreement with Isabella, saying in the same careful, measured tone, "Yes, we would be happy to help." There's just no turning down something like this: its an offer you can't refuse. |

Oscar straightens himself up after hearing Entei's request, shaking off some of his awe and fear at a legendary beast asking for help. "Never did much like the idea of hunting." He says quietly, more to himself than anything. He looks at Entei and nods. "I can't speak for all of us," he says, having regained some of his verbiage, "but I would be happy to lend my assistance." And the presence of the gigantic uber-powerful fire-beast in front of him in no way affected his decision, of course. |

Entei lowers his head in a slight nod at the three of you agreeing to help. "Bring whatever medical supplies you have," Entei instructs simply, emerging fully from the bushes and walking into the clearing to look between the five of you. "I will show you where you are needed." |
