The path through the - admittedly quite light - forest is either extremely well-maintained or extremely new. In places, there are what appear to be Pokemon trails that have forged paths into the forested area. A few Pokemon call in the distance, though none are immediately visible.

Sibyl attempts to politely ignore the theatrics, but it's clear she's quite amused with Oscar's display, offering a small nod with her lips pressed tightly together, in a sort of 'just ignore it' expression. After Isabella's introduction, she follows suit, saying a little more formally than her usual, "Well, the competition is certainly stiff around here. I'm Sibyl Aldaine, by the way. Good to have you with us," also holding out her hand.

"Hey, looks like you got a friend." Jeremy cheers, laughing slightly at Ellis' befuddlement. "I'll leave you guys to it." He gets up and walks across the clearing, purposefully ignoring the back-and-forth between Isabella and Oscar, towards Abbey and the Deerling. He approaches them carefully, not wanting to startle the Deerling anymore than it already might be.

"Hey Abs. You alright? I didn't see you do much fighting back there." He catches himself before he can be misunderstood. "Uh, not that I mind, y'know? Just thought I'd check in." He stammers out quickly.

With no help coming from his Trainer, Ellis, after a couple of moments, leans down and nudges Ivy with his nose, causing her to wobble back and then rock forwards again, Wobbuffet-style, to biff the Houndour on the nose with a playful "Bud!" Ellis jerks back a little, and looks down at the cheerful little Budew with a slight snort.

"Oh, um..." Abbey seems a little startled at first, perhaps not expecting to be called 'Abs.' The Deerling, apparently relaxing with the confrontational Pokemon no longer around, returns to its normal coloration once again, nuzzling against Abbey cheerfully - it seems that she's made a friend. "I'm fine. I was just, um..."

Whatever she is about to say is interrupted when the bushes rustle and a familiar face stumbles out of them. Professor Willow's assistant seems...a little bedraggled to say the least, and rather out of breath. "Oh...hi, guys! I kind of...lost track of where you went! I think I...managed to persuade the Professor's Pokemon...to stop chasing things for 30 seconds. Um, so, really quickly...Oscar was joining your group because his old group...I think one of them is still hiding in the Pokemon Centre toilets crying, and last I saw them...two of them were having a really big argument." He moves a little further into the clearing and notices the unconscious mouse. "Oh...I think that might have been our fault...that that came here. Sorry about that."

"Oh, ouch." When Oscar said his group had disintegrated, Isabella didn't think it was that bad. She winces a little at the explanation... then looks down at the little yellow mouse thing. It looks vaguely familiar.

"Huh, I just figured it hung out here with the other Pokémon we ran into. You didn't have a..." She flicks open her Pokédex to check what that bird she caught actually is. "A Taillow, too, did you? I kind of caught it."

She's watching Jeremy and Abbey out of the corner of her eye. She isn't sure whether to think that Abbey just stayed out of the fight to comfort the Deerling, or what, but it looks like Jeremy has the situation pretty much under control.

Sibyl grimaces in sympathy with the graphic description of that group's spectacular implosion. She felt quite lucky to be part of a more... stable group.

She looks over at Abbey and Jeremy. She thinks someone looking after the Deerling was a good idea: it was so jumpy it might have gotten scared to death without any support. That's what seems to have happened, and gives a reassuring smile of support to both Abbey and the Deerling.

"Oh, it's not mine," the young man hastily qualifies. "If you caught it it was probably just a wild. Just the Professor's Pokemon is amusing itself chasing everything. Which is kind of bad." He starts fumbling in his pockets and eventually produces a scrap of paper. "Anyway, the reason I needed to catch up with you was to tell you how to add Oscar's Pokedex to your group. First...no, hang on, that's my mum's recipe for stew." He stuffs the piece of paper back in his pocket and produces a second, identical, piece of paper. "Here we are. Apparently it's a setting in your contacts list. Well, that seems simple enough. Uh, I'd better go before the Professor's Pokemon runs off. Enjoy the Trainer-ing!"

Oscar looks at the retreating form of the assistant. "What a strange person." He says to no one in particular before taking out his new Pokedex and attempting to sync it as he was told.

"Pretty sure he's harmless. Just... excitable." Isabella flicks through the options on her contacts to try and find the sync function.

"Anyway, where are you from, Oscar? I'm from Anistar City, in Kalos. This is Chouette, by the way," she adds, gesturing to the little Hoothoot. "She's going to knock 'em dead once we hit the contests."

"I don't doubt that she will." Oscar replies, giving the Hoothoot a respectful nod. "I'm from the Fiore region myself. Have a... Had a house near Fall City, but there's not much Pokemon training to be had there, so I thought I'd apply myself here instead. Speaking of which, I have a new ally to put into the picture. If you will excuse me for a moment."

He turns away and releases the Pidgey he caught. He looks at her critically. "I apologize for that unpleasantness, even though you did rather being it upon yourself. I realize you had the type advantage, but one should never rely solely on that for victory, particularly if one cannot take advantage of it offensively. However," he leans down, taking out the Full Heal from his pack, not considering its value, and spraying it on the bird, "your aggression and determination were admirable and, with some refinement, could serve you quite well. Tell me, my avian friend," he leans in close and asks the same question he asked Ivy, "would you like to become a champion?"

Standing with Abbey and the Deerling and with his back to the rest of the group, Jeremy raises his right hand, palm towards him, curls his fingers and thumbs inward so that just the tips are touching each other, and makes a small, repeated left-to-right movement; simultaneously contorting his eyebrows at Abbey in a 'get a load of this guy' kind of expression.

"Whatever. We seem stuck with him anyway." He mumbles, before returning to his conversation with Abbey. "Where were we?...Oh, yeah. You sure you're alright? And what about this guy?" Jeremy says, eyes crossing over to the young fawn Pokémon. "Is he fine too? Did you catch him?"
