Tabi Port; The beginning of a grand adventure...

Tabi Port has obviously modernised recently. Small cottages and equally-small shops are dwarfed by the new constructions; the Tabi Hotel, and the nearby Pokemon Centre.

Occupying what clearly is usually the village green is a large marquee, a large banner attached to the top reading 'Honi's First League Trainers, departing at 10am!' A big, bulky man stands outside the entrance to the marquee, checking IDs and only permitting the prospective trainers in; kids of various ages are emerging from the hotel at irregular intervals and being allowed in, often watched by tearful friends and family.

The mood is overall quite festive, with all manner of souvenirs being hawked by the entrepenurial villagers. It is now 9:50, and the last boat expected to arrive has just pulled into the docks, bringing with it the last few soon-to-be Trainers, who are now disembarking onto dry land.

You are all amongst these Trainers. What do you do now?

As Sibyl walks out the door (shaking her head in exasperation), she scans the area for their hooded 'friend', to no luck. Her eyes then turn to follow the people looking up, and sees a figure floating away in the sky. Silently, she joins the dots in her head, then speaks incredulously, "Waaait... that's not him is it?"

She rubs her eyes, and looks again to confirm that, yes, it doesn't look like she's imagining it all.

Isabella spots the shape in the sky almost immediately, screeching to a halt. She shades her eyes to get a better look at the departing figure. "... Yup, that's them alright. On, uh... something really big with three heads. I don't recognize that Pokémon."

Finding herself stymied, she stamps a foot and mutters something very rude under her breath. So much for solving the big mystery. How's she supposed to follow that? Even if Chouette could carry her weight, there's no way she could keep up with the rapidly-departing spot in the sky.

"Eh? Wait, what are you guys talking about?" Abbey says as she trails behind them out of the Pokémon Center. Once outside, she follows the gazes of the others, shielding her eyes from the sun. "Oh wow! A Hydreigon!" She pauses. "But it looks weird. I wonder if something happened to it..." she says with concern.

She turns to look at the others. "Someone you all know?"

Jeremy tries to see what the others see, but as he looks up he accidentally glances at the sun and briefly has to shield his eyes. When he's finished rubbing them, he can't see anything out of the ordinary in the sky. He sighs, "I'll just have to take your guys' word for it. And no, Abbey. Never seen him before."

Sibyl hears the other 2 girls talking about a large, three headed Pokemon, and suddenly the situation was a bit clearer than she'd first thought. "Right... he flew on a Pokemon, that makes more sense," she mutters quietly to herself. She wonders why that didn't occur to her. "That's a pretty, uh, drastic way to escape," she adds, with confusion.

She then addresses Abbey's question, "Oh, he was apparently watching us. Isabella can explain." She then asks a question of her own back, "Weird? What do you mean?"

"He was?" she asks, glancing up in the air again, even though the person in question is lost to sight now. "It didn't have the frills around its heads," she says, gesticulating around the base of her head and neck to demonstrate what she meant. "And the wing shape was off too..."

"Never seen a Hydreigon before. Can't be that many three-headed Pokémon around, though, so you're probably right. I'll take your word for it that it's weird." Isabella shakes her head, sighing. "Anyway. Did you see a guy in a hood sitting in the corner of the Pokémon Center back there? That was him. I caught him looking at us. I guess that's not really that weird, but he got up and left as soon as he knew I'd seen him. And now he's apparently flown away."

She stares off in the direction the Hydreigon flew. "That's gonna bug me for days, now. What was he up to...?"

"Oh... no, I didn't..." she admits with a slight flush of embarrassment. "But... maybe he saw our battle and was interested? We... were in a pretty public place," she says. "M-maybe he's just really shy..." Like me.

"But they must be a really strong trainer to have a Pokémon like that..." she muses. It kind of undermines her "interested in their battle" theory, but... "I doubt there are that many people with a Pokémon like that, so we can probably learn more if we ask around," she says, trying to encourage Isabella.

"Maybe we'll find someone who knows something in the next town?" Jeremy says to no-one in particular, looking off to the side, not-so-subtly hinting at the fact that he wants to stop with the distractions and get his adventure underway.

Isabella heaves a sigh. "Nah, Jeremy's right. We should get moving. We got a date on Victory Island, remember? Be a shame to miss it 'cause we kept getting sidetracked before we even got out of town."

She chuckles a little and gives Abbey an encouraging smile. "Thanks, though." She doesn't want to seem like she's shooting down all of Abbey's suggestions; that's no way to help a shy girl come out of her shell.
